This was suggested by @Youbetternot saying "It is a Action packed anime. It's one of those typical main character is weak, later on finds a girl that gives him crazy powers. However the twist in this anime is that, it actually has a decent plot."
 

Ken Kaneki is a bookworm college student who meets a girl names Rize at a cafe he frequents. They're the same age and have the same interests, so they quickly become close. Little does Kaneki know that Rize is a ghoul - a kind of monster that lives by hunting and devouring human flesh. When part of her special organ - "the red child" - is transplanted into Kaneki, he becomes a ghoul himself, trapped in a warped world where humans are not the top of the food chain.

Izayoi Sakamaki, Asuka Kudou, and You Kasukabe are three "special" teenagers, who want something different than their current lives. Suddenly, they receive invitations to a world called "Little Garden" from Black Rabbit and get transported to where a completely new world filled with adventure and challenges await them and will put their "gifts" to the test.

I thought the opposite, I hated most of it and I thought "well it's only 12 episodes, I might as well just finish for the sake of it" so glad I did, it was going to be a 5~6/10 but that ending saved it to 8~9/10, the last episode single handedly carried the other 11."
 

Makoto Ito rides the train to and from school every day. However, at the beginning of his second term, he falls in love with a beautiful girl that also rides the train. Unfortunately, she barely knows of his existence. Her name is Kotonoha Katsura, and though they attend the same school, they are not in the same class. In an attempt to catch her eye, Makoto enlists the aid of a close female friend of his: Sekai Saionji. She helps him, despite the fact that she—unbeknownst to Makoto—is in love with him. Thus the three are bound in a love triangle of life-changing proportions.

Our main character's life will change into a life full of trouble and jelousy from the two girls that are now his neightbours, that happen to be the daughters of the king of gods and the king of demons that are in love with him since their childhood. Our main character happens to live with his childhood friend (girl) on his house too. It has good comedy, but it has it's very dramatic moments too, it's very complete."
 

When two doors are discovered in an ancient ruin, the gateways to shinkai, the realm of the shinzoku (Gods) and makai, the realm of the mazoku (Demons) are irreversably opened. The races of human, shinzoku, and mazoku come together in the mortal world and nothing will ever be the same. One day, two new families move next door to a boy who had previously been living a very peaceful life. In one house lived the family of the King of the Gods, and in the other lived the family of the King of the Demons. Both families had one daughter whose single wish to live next to the boy they had fallen in love with years ago has just been fulfilled. Also living with the boy is his childhood friend. With these three girls vying for his affections, the boy finds that his new life filled with despair, jealousy, and just a little hope is beginning.

This series was suggested by @PercySavageEG saying "It is a short anime of 13 episodes aired in 2007 about a guy named Hidaka Sana who is coming back to his hometown after 5 years of studying in Tokyo. A lot has changed during his time in Tokyo, one of the major ones being one of his childhood friends, Yatsushiro Nakana who used to be really nice and sweet but has now become gloomy. I suggested this anime because it is the second anime I saw and possibly one of the deciding factors of getting me hooked into watching animes, though it is a short anime, I felt like it has a very interesting story, a beautiful setting, and a good choice of music and art style. Though it might not live up to today's standards, it has a special place in my heart and in my opinion is an anime worth watching."
 

Sana Hidaka returns to his hometown after 5 years away living in Tokyo. Although there are some changes to the town, most has remained the same. On a detour to his apartments, he notices a girl in a shrine maiden outfit watching him when he visits the shrine. He finds out, the next day at school, that this girl is actually Nanaka Yatsushiro, his old childhood friend.

Not enough people have seen this great, short anime. This is another one that I wish they made a sequel for, yet will probably never happen...

Oh well, at least there's the light novel. (If only the translation was faster, though... Massive Cliff hanger at the end of volume 8, then volume 9 is just a bunch of short stories instead of continuing where 8 left off.. have to wait for volume 10 to be translated, ugh.)

The school days ending was so fucked up. I liked it and hated it too much. 0_0 I just wanted his pimp lifestyle to continue.... lmao (still don't think the ending was good enough to justify the shitty rest of the show.)

like, have you ever had really terrible anal sex? I never have, but if you did, it's probably kind of like School Days at first, but at the ending of the suffering all becomes just as the creative gods smile down on you with infinite cute animals, full sized snicker bars, and truckloads of cash/slam peices/drugs etc.

 

Hell, the responses in this thread alone should be enough to generate curiosity to create some sort of drive to want to see what's up

For a show to make me hate most of the characters so much yet continue watching anyways it had to be good.

 

It was one of the most satisfying shows I can think of, if it wasn't for the ending I would have felt like I had wasted a few hours of my life being totally pissed off at a cartoon.

 

But it was so worth it.

School days was great. I had to rewatch that part a couple of times before I could continue just to process that and confirm that it did, in fact, happen. The ending made it, other than that, even I (who has shit taste and isn't bothered much by genericism and tropes) found it pretty boring. Not exactly bad, but not good. The ending makes it one of the most memorable anime for me. Also the reason why I had such a hard time getting one of my friends into anime, that was the first thing I recommended him and he was horrified.

 

If what has been said up to this point doesn't evoke some kind of curiosity in people, nothing will and they won't watch it anyways.

TG is whatever, you can find any other edgy shounen as a substitute

For better or worse, it leaves an impression on basically everyone. I would consider that a success regardless of how you feel about it due to the intent.
