Just wanted to know if anyone on here has survived having cancer? I just got off the phone with my doctor. Found out I could potentially have a high risk of cancer. I found some lumps and well I don't know what to do. Seeing the doctor on Friday and then he said I will need to have surgery to remove them and get them tested. I have no biological family at all so no background. Was born in a 3rd world country and had health problems. Doesn't matter if I eat healthy and workout. I was also told my liver should be failing this year or next because of past health problems. I'm not a doctor and I will just have to look forward to the future. About 6 years ago my boss at work had a lump on her back. It turned out to be cancer and she died 3 months later. I don't think I will die or anything. Hopefully its not cancer. I have 3 lumps btw. My family is mad that I waited so long to contact the doctor. I really don't know who to talk about this so I decided to post it here. If anyone cares or not. Everyone that I have known to have cancer has died. I can update this on Friday if anyone cares. Wish me luck.

Well depends if the cancer is benign or a metatsatic cancer; if it's benign things will be awesome since it won't spread and is easy to remove :) If it's metastatic and hasn't metastisised things are still good, since it hasn't spread but can quite easily be treated with new therapeutics and surgery :) and just so you know the liver is a versatile organ and is the only one capable of regenerating itself as long as you have a 3rd of it left :P

For your liver I recommend no alcohol at ALL, maybe 1 glass of wine at most a week since it's shown to be a source of antioxdants and eat lots of fruits containing antioxidants as these will help to 'mop up' free radicals around your body, and liver, and will help reduce the risks of the cancer developing :) (free radicals and higly reactive oxygen species cause cellular damage increasing the chance of developing cancers and other conditions, via their effects on the DNA of cells increasing their mutatability)

If you want to talk just message me anytime :P

Edit: Just realised the post date xD Congrats on the news too, glad it came back benign :)

Test results update from May 19th

Alright, I would just like to thank everyone for the support on here. It has been a rough month. Talked to my doctor yesterday. My biopsy test results came back benign. I do not have cancer. Doctor said it was a calcium build up that formed the lumps. He said there was nothing that I could've done to prevent it. He said that they might come back. He said he may never see me again. Either way I am very happy. Had a nightmare before the news.

Great! Good news to hear. Just had an amazing day, and it's only becoming better!

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

In the future, you should see a doctor as early as you can identify that there might be a problem. All cancers are different, but one of the biggest factors to long-term survival of most cancers is early detection. Especially since you said you've had health problems in the past, don't mess around, get checked out when you need to. It's also worth asking if the doctor thinks any routine screening is appropriate in your case or at your age, if they didn't say so already.
