So I started watching the anime Parasyte and really liked it. Are there any good animes that you guys would reccomend?

not: death note, sword art online, inuyasha, clannad, soul eater, naruto, bleach, accel world, zero no whatever/familiar of zero

 

(generally avoid tags with shounen, harem, ecchi, school+romance, anything with a plot centered around a sister unless you REALLY know what you're getting in to. note that shounen will be a VERY popular tag, "unless you know what you're getting in to" applies greatly.)

 

because there's so much out there, I think a "avoid this" list is very useful too.

 

there are also some you should avoid that are generally good (or not bad) but not good "starter" material, like the monogatari sequence, kill la kill, haruhi, TTGL, lucky star etc.

fairy tail (you have to get through the first few episodes that are not interesting at all, but once the larger arcs start it picks up)

I am impelled not to squeak like a grateful and frightened mouse, but to roar...

Yu-Gi-Oh (First series, not GX, 5Ds, whatever. Even if you aren't into the card game, the plot for the anime is quite good imo)
