Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Again, depends on the distance. We have customers that drive 30,000 miles in 10 months and customers that drive 3,000 miles in 10 months. We have a 2017 Hyundai with 130,000 miles and a 2000 Jeep with 46,000 miles.

I am in the 2nd category 3000 miles in 10 months

Ok, after re-reading your post I now understand that you want to remove fluids using a pump. At first read it sounded like it was pushing fluids (also know as pumping) out the dipstick and coolant reservoir... Sorry. I will say that drawing the engine oil out thru the dipstick is not the best way as wear particles and sludge tends to settle in the bottom of the oil pan and can only really be removed by way of the oil drain plug. Either way, be sure the engine oil is up to operating temperature before trying to drain or pump it out. Running the engine and having the oil at operating temperature helps to stir up and suspend wear particles into the oil rather than just collecting on the bottom of the oil pan.

I would just top up oil as needed, I don't think you need to suck out and refill with fresh oil every 1500 miles. Do try to figure out where the oil is going, if it's burning you might try checking the PCV and cleaning/replacing it, making sure there's no leaks, and maybe run some solvents through the engine to clean up the oil rings if it's burning from inside the engine like that.

There are no leaks, its just burning a bit of oil. I was thinking of buying Chevron Techron Fuel Injection Cleaner to clean the fuel pump that is buried in the gas tank and fuel injectors but i can't find it with a reasonable price. The shipping is like 2-3 times the value of the product. Any other additive you would suggest that you know works ? and its not snake oil lol :P

the answer... is always Miata.

2001 miata, nothing major. just cooling system upgrades for the track, roll bar, coilovers, and wheels/tires

The olden days really were better...

austina55cambridge1957%2005.jpgIt must have taken months to draw/paint those detailed illistrations of the vehicle, honestly it's truely staggering what these artists were capable of. These days it just takes a few seconds to press a button on a camera and you're done (plus a quick edit in software). Hand drawn/painted illistrations need to return in modern brochures, it would make them more intresting to read and they'd hold some value for the future.

1qt every 1000 miles is considered 'normal' by most, but less is always better.

What products are available to you locally? Some of the Gumout products are actually quite good.

My TransAm rev's pretty high for a SBC.  Its nothing new, but most people don't build a 350 and decided to spin it to 7k+.

But this 3rd gen Camaro takes the cake.  I have admired it for years.

Its a destroked LS7 out of a Vette. 8500rpm and 700hp+.

And. It. Sounds. Glorious!

Don't tax the poor more but then suggests taxing something nearly everyone (poor included) need to live with a tax on it. Taxes on staple products absolutely target lower income people WAY more because they have less overall money so any increase in staple cost hits them harder than someone with more money, way smaller slice of the pie at $100,000 than at $14,000 when fuel goes up by 45 cents per gallon. That's a very contradictory bit of paper there. Same reason import tariffs on things like foods don't affect the wealthy but always hit the poor harder. If the price of tuna doubles someone in poverty probably can't afford it but someone who's wealthy won't even notice that their tuna sandwich at Panera went up by $1.

Which would you rather have?

HubNut's 1986 Citroen 2CV

48390225342_550a874433_b.jpg

OR

JayzTwoCents' 1967 Chevrolet Camaro

81138E32-6F18-41D2-8883-97809B241820.JPG

Personally while the Camaro is fine looking car with lots of horsepower, I'd rather have the 2CV. The go anywhere suspension is utterly amazing and it just looks so cute, plus when you thrash them (which is most of the time) they make some really delicious engine noises. That maybe a conclusion some of you may not have expected, but hey that's just me I guess :P

Looking forward to what the rest of you will choose.
