  1. I wouldn't trust anything with a fan. A decent heat sink with is all you need. Remember, its not in a hot computer case near other hot components. Its all by itself.
  2. My TransAm rev's pretty high for a SBC. Its nothing new, but most people don't build a 350 and decided to spin it to 7k+. But this 3rd gen Camaro takes the cake. I have admired it for years. Its a destroked LS7 out of a Vette. 8500rpm and 700hp+. And. It. Sounds. Glorious!
  3. You should really look into what kind of risk you are taking with FTP. At a minimum, you should be using SFTP. FTP is worse than a leaky life boat in shark infested waters.
  4. I pulled the datalogs and averaged the readings into a pivot table so I could manipulate and visualize the data. Which gives me this. Car is probably making between 450-500hp at the crank, right up around 6600 - 6700rpm. Never been on dyno, this data is being estimated from AFR and MAF readings.
  5. A very short trip home in the TransAm. Recently got a new power steering pump so I've been driving it. But it turns out this pump is bad out of the box, you can hear it whine around 30-40 seconds. Thats also when you hear me wind the engine out to 6800rpm for 2nd and almost in 3rd too. Basically its got some of all its engine noises. Some cold start in the car, some warm idle, mild throttle just cruising around, and two pulls, a 50-80mph pull in 2nd, and a 80-120 pull in 3rd. Its hard to hold the camera and not have the vibrations destroy the image lol.
  6. With the appliance type NAS you are limited to what the on-board ASIC can do. Its ability to transcode is based in hardware, so is not flexible enough to deal with oddball formats. But, at the same time, they are much more power efficient than a full on PC is. Personally, I like having the raw CPU power to do whatever I want. Even my old 4790k can deal with 4k (just 1 stream). But its also a 9 year old CPU and a modern CPU could power through it no problem. It'll do whatever I throw at it and its 1080p performance is more than adequate. But, its not really power efficient.   7. Yeah, I've been through a bunch of those. Most of the links you posted, and I've found are for PS Visual Studio 2017 or other languages that use the WinForms. Powershell console is cut down on the WinForms things it supports. I'm glad this thing works as well as it does honestly considering its the first stab i've ever taken at a GUI based powershell script using WinForms. I've got many other scripts both batch, bash, and Powershell. The GUI based stuff here leads me to want to redo most of my other scripts since they are one trick pony's that do specific things.
  8. Has anyone dealt with this before? I searched around and most of it the solutions seem to be for Powershell studio. So here is the behavior. One first opening, and through the first pass of operations the form is perfect, exactly as designed. But after the form refreshes, it moves to very poorly scaled window. The form itself scales down, while the text in the buttons remains at full size making the form pretty much illegible. Thankfully, its fairly simple so you can click without issues by memory. Exiting the script, and re-opening fixes the issue until it refreshe

  10. I don't have any of the benchmark screen shots, I'd have to grab a virgin drive and test to snag them. But right now I have two Go To's depending on your combination of budget and use case. If you are buying an Enclosure that you aren't going to be swapping drives on often, and you don't want to spend a ton, Go with the TDBT enclosure. Its cheap at about $26 + Tax/Shipping, excellent heat dissipation, and it has been rock solid reliable. Many raid cards support being flashed with IT firmware which turns them from a Raid into an HBA. but converting the firmware isn’t really necessary unless the host is likes direct disk access (FreeNAS is an example). for windows leaving it as a raid card is fine , beneficial and preferred even. Raid 0 is for speed only. In a basic 2 disk setup it’s half as reliable as a single drive. With 3 it’s 1/3rd as reliable. This is because if any single disk fails then the entire array is lost. Running JBOD concatenated arrays is almost as unreliable as Raid 0.
  12. I don’t know why any business would run straight raid5 for critical production data. Only 1 more drive away from raid 10 which is significantly better for databases and easier to rebuild. especially when the use case means data backups rapidly lose their usefulness after only a few days.
  13. Plex does it for a few reasons, including the ones you listed. it will also transcode based on whether it determines if the client is WAN or LAN. It supports basic detection of your upload bandwidth. in my Plex server preferences I listed my local Vlans so it doesn’t use the max upload bitrate I have set. Example ona Speedtest I can do about 30mbps. So I set max upload at 21mbps. Any stream over 21mbps streaming to a WAN client is forced to transcode. I also limited my server to 5 simultaneous transcodes with a max bitrate of 10mbps. this way I’m pretty
