@Kilrah ,  @TVwazhere , If it is any consolation, there are (surely) a few odd cases like me whom are folding still, even if not registered in the event.

Maybe the lift of some restrictions also make people think the urgency is less there. For me as long as we do not have either a vaccine (that can target specific RNA string nowaday, if I understand correctly) or a cure, we will not be out of the woods.  Now is the time to fold, the WU's seems to have been massively released if I interpret correctly the number of project 14201 I have fold in the last week.

It must be summer folding as my last 1060 has a fan that sounds like it's gonna die anytime now.

Will it keep churning out that 450k a day... or will it shake itself apart and overhear in a blaze of glory before the end of the week!?

Well, some people have shared about why they're folding, so maybe I can do the same! I lost a cousin to a rare form of brain cancer over 10 years ago, we weren't that close but it still hit home. Then, my mom passed away 3 weeks ago. She had dementia but basically "natural causes" was put on the death certificate. However, my main focus is on COVID-19, as it's done quite the number on my anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder. 

 

I have a weaksauce rig (AMD FX-8320 & R9 290) but every little bit helps! I keep dropping ranks; I know it's just for bragging rights but dang! I wanna build a new computer! Lack of money. 🤬

My Folding@home stats. I love meat but I'm pescatarian*. I have chronic dry eyes. Enough about me, how are you?

Unfortunately it seems I'm going to experience a significant drop in production for the next few hours, as I ran out of time before work to complete maintenance on my rig with my 1060Ti

I need a vacation. It did not help that when searching "1060ti" that I got listings for newegg amazon, and videos about a 1060ti (however clicking on them reveals they're all 1060's or 1660ti's)

Bleh, was away today and set up everything with the babysitter script, and when I remoted in in the afternoon of course the 2080S had been blocked on a stuck download for 4 hours 😡

Also came back to 27°C inside temp, fortunately it's still cool at night so opening all the windows quickly brought temps back to more acceptable levels...

No matter the strength of your rig, everyone is happy to have you on board.  Donating your time, resources, and energy bill to a good cause is awesome; the ranks are just for fun!  And Sh*t-talking, which is just more fun.
