I'm back up to 600k points again today. I only picked back up 2 places, so I'm still down compared to my highest ranking.

I'll be holding on 32nd as much as I can!!

Unless I can move up a couple of spots haha

I agree with @cbigfoot only fold with the GPU for a bit.  Most laptops share the heat pipe / spreader and single cooling fan between the CPU and GPU even when it's a discrete GPU.

With both running 100% heat there is no chance the heat pipe will be designed for that and you will likely thermal throttle both leading to the slower fold times.

Meh, I'm not to worried about what my laptop can do nowadays.
I really need to pull it apart and replace the thermal compound as it thermal throttles so fast it can't really do anything that requires much processing power. That and between the 4 CPU cores there is a 30°C temperature difference, so as soon as 1 hits 99° they all slow to a crawl. I actually dropped it down from 8 threads down to 1 thread and it sped up the TPF and PPD.

That's how I'm feeling about the other person using a 2070 super. It's taking quite a while to bring up the average PPD since there's was 500K+ PPD less than I get on average.

Things seem to be running stable for me overall now, why tf do I only have issues when events are running?

Be sure that I did not. Ran it for few days after Extension was announced with 60% PL and slight OC. Sold it before the event.

Yes, most of my GPUs have them and my overall PPD has dropped by almost 900k

Mine on these WU's have gone up a little bit, but the estimated PPD for the GPU keeps ranging between 1.4m - 1.7m.

Definitely nowhere near as consistent, or as much as I was getting from my constant stream of 14201 WU's I kept getting the last 4 days until late last night. Now I keep getting the 117xx units or just no WU's available and that's even  worse!

Can everyone stop folding for a couple of months while I catch up? Oh, wait...this event is only a week. Nevermind. Carry on.

I kid!

At least I'm in the top 100! Of 153! And 10 people aren't even getting any points so make that of 143! YEAH!! (It's the little things that make life worth living 🙃)

*Edit: I wonder how many games @Macaw2000 can run at once. Max settings. At 4k. Dual monitor. 7.1 surround.

My Folding@home stats. I love meat but I'm pescatarian*. I have chronic dry eyes. Enough about me, how are you?

Considering most of his points come from cloud computing, he could run all the games at max settings but his internet is probably like 10mbps so he'd only see 2 fps on a cloud gaming system 😜  (I joke about the internet thing of course it's more like 12mbps)

I noticed yesterday that my cpu temp has slowly crept up over the last couple of days, so I set my cpu to finish its WU and stop folding. It's going to nerf my PPD my ~20% but better safe than sorry.

Running it at night when it's cooler / I don't have to listen it to it has crossed my mind.

Flip side... one fan is barely doing anything cause shutting it down has had the 2060 super in the same case jump up in PPD I assume due to thermal spill over from the 1060 being removed.

FFS... the PPD on the 2060 is creeping up to the point where the 1060 in the same case has been compensated for and was apparently a waste of electricity in summer ambient temps to fold...

I'm kinda missing tossing rigs in rooms that are like 16c or less in the winter.
