Why is it only during events that my ppd tanks? I usually get around 1.8-1.9 Mill PPD on my 2070S, but during events, I can't get a decent WU for the life of me

Fine, I'll just have to save up some dough to plunk down on one of those upcoming ampere cards. I'm thinking 3070, and keeping the 2070S as a full timer.

Bigfoot, you are going to have to spend big in September.  I had money set aside for a 3970x and mobo, but decided to save it to make a 3080ti SLI setup and will replace the other 2080ti as well.  Its going to be an expensive fall my friend

well i may have to be the little engine that tried lol im saving up for the cyber truck lol...if i do upgrade will be to a 3060 or comparable price wise.  aint spending the 3070 or 3080 money...i will also take donations of lightly used 2080s lol...

I was thinking of doing the same thing haha

Although i just bought my 2070s along with the rest of my rig's components just a few weeks ago.....but who cares? lol

with that psu you should be able to ues a 2070s and a 3070

whelp my 2080S has now stopped getting WU's, unfortunate. CPU and 670 are still chewing on stuff, lets see what I wake up to.

One of the reasons I went a little overkill with the PSU. That and I also want to do a hardline system eventually. This is my current power stats while cpu and gpu are running full blast

well, then Ill have two GPU's in there, one for gaming one for folding, both on water.

 

The second GPU I guess wont help me out in gaming.  So, still SLI

Really wondering if the 3090 will be the new Titan, and if so that will be out of the price range.  Im certainly not buying 7500$ of GPU (for 3)...I think.

 

Would kind of be crazy for the 3080ti not to have it, but honestly I guess its been trending that way anyways.

The issue is now... NV Link (SLI) is only really there for certain data applications and synthetic benchmarks, pretty much useless in gaming / day to day etc.  They seemed to therefore be killing it off...  But then.  B550.

B550 mobos have the CPU support, PCIE lanes and in most cases I have seen dual GPU support even with the PCI X16 slot spacing setup to support 2 thick boi cards.     AMD is even touting the boards "Dual GPU" support at 16 and 8X...   

So... either AMD is planning to use PCIE 4.0 to finally make AMD crossfire worth it on their net gen cards... or NVidia is going to return to SLI cause PCIE 4.0 is going so mainstream on AMD platforms the bandwidth is just sitting there for insane cards.

OR (marketing brain)

AMD just likes the sound of dual GPU support for B550 and no one really needs that as for most cases RTX cards out already are OP for most people and way out of budget to have multiple for just gaming.
