Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

his was a sedan too. And yeah every CVT car I've ever driven has dissapointed me; it'd take a lot to impress me with one at this point.

Feels weird doing a fat burnout in one. Normally when you shift you gain traction. Nah, straight up peeling to 60mph is my record so far. Better than my Mazda in that regard.

Its really weird feeling. Really hard to describe.

I will agree that most CVTs are garbage. My car is pretty good though. I had been debating on a Si because they gave them LED headlights and sensing in 2020 but then kung flu happened. Really impressed with 10th gens handling. Much better than the Mazda and that was a good FWD handling car.

So I used to have some BFGoodfornothings on the Celica and could routinely spin tires at 40mph in the rain hitting lift at full throttle, it IS a weird feeling breaking traction when you're already moving.

And I am no longer bike less! Meet my new Xv535:

image1-1.thumb.jpg.ce3c73f881200123b7cb2040e4b5640c.jpg

Got it for €950, by far the cheapest for sale but that's because it has this:

image1-2.thumb.jpg.8c28057e6f83b7509764b6db1cf42db9.jpg

Should be easy enough to fix, also needs a new oil and filter and I'm going to swap the drive shaft oil too. Some polish on the small amount of spotty surface rust, a wash and new tires and it's going to be pretty good for a Viagra :D

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Debating if I want to upgrade to a gen 4 Whipple on my mustang 🤔 would need to find a buyer for the gen 2 first though. 🤔 If someone has 3k laying around for the blower only that would be interesting. Looks like I'll have to search my Instagram and mustang forum peeps see what I can shake loose.

I think my Saturn's not far from giving up the ghost. Shocker.

Now I'm looking into 98-05 Lexus GSes, hopefully a 400/430 but probably a 300. Thankfully, I live in the South, where about 74% of those now currently live.

Before and after on the indicators, now also blinking at a bit of a more reasonable rate. Probably need to change the resistors but at least now they are in parallel instead of in series and also tucked away neatly :)

This.... is my life rn..... idk whos cheerios i pissed in to get this kinda week or if its just 2020 finding its way to completely fuck every single person alive this year

started off spending 750 to have entire front end redone, tie rods, end links, ball joints wheel bearings and other things done as well as oil change, then the day i got it back my dad has 2 heart attacks in a day and spent 3 days in icu, i had to spend around 400 in hotels just to be near his hospital while missing work, then he gets out. i come home find out oh the guy lost 2 of my wheel caps which are around 30 bucks each, and my brand new door pins. then get in it to go to work and get literately half a mile down the road before this.

.... like i dropped it off at the shop, get work and oil change, drive car straight from shop to home, parked, got in other car and drove to NC where my dad was at in the hospital, come home almost a week later, get ready for work next morning, get in car and drive less then half a mile. beginning to think foul play cause this shit is insane... i have like 2 miles on the car total getting it back from the shop.

Excellent work. The Saab looks brand new. The wheels looks good on it, yeah.

2002 E39 520i with angel eyes, needs a little work. A little bit of rust here and there, replace spark plugs, oil change, replace badges and fix the left suspension. Some noise coming from there, sounds like a busted bushing.

Yeah, old Saabs in the US are predominately driven by hipsters that think they’re too quirky for a Volvo.

I don’t mind them, but I always thought that the 03-08 Saab 9-3 was a really sharp looking car, same with that 9-5.
