Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Doesn't help that regular nissan filters are the size of lawnmower oil filters.

wonder why they do that.

Larger volume canister means more surface area for the filter medium. While the passages are more restrictive, there's more passages to compensate.

Right, but I’m saying compared to a smaller filter with the same medium.

The larger filter still has more pathways with the same medium.

Oil pressure is regulated. Flow rate would be negligible.

Just stick with OEM filters especially in modern engines.

^ they lied to you. Highly doubt they pulled a transmission(several hour job) just to check your "clutch pads" (proper name is clutch disc)

that said your clutch is probably fine if driven normally but it's not something you can just take a look at real quick and check...

Tons of cars have inspection plates/ports that make it a very simple job to check the clutch assembly.   I know for sure Early Evos, DSMs, most early toyotas.

Removing the starter and using a mirror is also a quick way on some vehicles to quickly check.

Something to watch out for is bypass pressure though, all canister filters bypass above a certain PSI and if that's a lot lower than the original filter then you'll not be filtering the oil as much even though it's a larger media. There should be specs listed online for that, I myself went through this looking for a bigger filter for my Mazda (the other car) and came to the conclusion that I'd rather have a slightly smaller filter with a 12 psi bypass than a filter with an 8 psi bypass, since 8psi is near the minimum spec for the engine and I doubt my oil pressure dips that low that often.

Do you mean the flywheel inspection hole cover? That won't be inside the trans at worst it would be inside the bell housing but more likely that trans or engine has been apart (meaning out of the vehicle) and they didn't put it back in. That's possibly good news if it got a new or rebuilt trans at some point in it's life!

My bad yeah, it was the bell housing. I doubt it was either of those, but I guess it's possible. It had some lifter tick and didn't want to deal with it though. Honestly it was probably fine and I could have just left it and let the cam lobe wear down flat xD. Outside of that, it was the most immaculate OBS I had ever seen. Got it for a steal too, only $3500 (and sold it for $4000, coulda got more had I been patient). 95k miles, 4.9L I6 and 5-speed. Let me see if I have any pictures...

Only had it for about a year. Didn't even have a rip in the factory seat (though it had some stitching was was very close to coming undone, you can kinda see it in the interior pic, where the flat vinyl meets the mesh vinyl. I never really liked those side steps... dunno why I put them on in the first place. I would love to have kept it and tubbed it and made a super custom tow pig/autocross truck. Who knows how much that would have cost though lol...

As soon as this gets put in a single production vehicle the one argument will be done with. You could totally roadtrip with 10x the energy density of lithium ion

It's highly unlikely that'll happen, and even then, it's unlikely to deliver any promises without huge drawbacks.
