Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

This looks fantastic, maybe my next car. Its electric too so you can't drive it long enough for it to break.

I like it, but the steering wheel being a rectangle isn't going to be fun

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Its a concept, so I don't imagine it will make it. Maybe its meant to give the feel of a formula one car.

quite interesting at how high you rate the looks of the Prius

More like how low I rate the CT200h. It also feels smaller than a prius, I don't know how Toyota managed that.

couldnt find a longer XG7317 so I went for a XG3593A.. which was behind a bunch of filters on the shelf lol.

So I doubt i'll be able to use that every time. dont think those are used much.. some older (90's) hondas I think

I don't get why a huge 5.6L engine has such a small oil filter from the factory... I use 7317's on my miata as a tall size for peat sakes

I know what you mean, I sometimes have trouble finding 3600s too, seems like smaller and smaller filters are becoming the norm.

the steering wheel is so strange in the prius.

And the vertically placed controls in the lexus is just a terrible idea.

also.. why are the pedals in the lexus directly in the middle of the steering wheel? lol

XG3614 vs XG3600.

What’s the advantage to using a bigger filter? Better filtration? Better flow?

ny accord can’t fit a longer filter or it would come in contact with the control arm going over bumps, but I could possibly put a 3600 in the tundra instead of a 3614.

Depends on the filter and vehicle. Some use larger filters that compensate for higher oil pressure.

Larger filter elements allow you to run a finer filter with less restriction on flow vs a finer filter on the standard sized filter elements.

Basically the story with normal particulate filters, the finer the filter is, the more flow restriction there is. But if you simply increase the physical size of the filter, you can buy back your pressure loss from the finer filter.

also in general more filter material to hold all the junk.

It's amazing how much dirtier DI is. The oil is still a goldish color on my miata after 6000 miles but the qx80 at that point is jet black
