Afghanistan has more than 10,000 cases. There must be a good 5G network there.

 

Seems common sense and logic are in short supply nowadays. Wonder what is inside their skulls. Some people can't see beyond the little space they live in.

There are some people inclined to believe something merely because it goes against established wisdom.  They're more interested in the feeling of being 'privileged,' of being an insider, than actually being right.  Hence why many of the people who believe in one conspiracy theory tend to believe a whole bunch (i.e. if they believe 5G is deadly, they're also anti-vaxxers or think Bill Gates is some evil mastermind).

I actually had to double take to make sure this was humor. It’s getting so ridiculous I wouldn’t doubt it if it were true lol

 

This was just too funny. Thriller? Heh, more like: Grandma Killer. Unlike 99.6% of people with covid, Michael Jackson failed to Beat It. The covid models were Bad. In lockdown, we’re all stuck here with The Man in The Mirror. Say, say, say what you want, but I refuse to live in fear. 

 

One thing I've noticed is that the media have been reporting the deaths of somewhat obscure people more than usual. It's like "So and so died" but either the cause is not disclosed or is reported as "natural causes". The net effect is more obituaries= more panic.

It's definitely sarcasm.  They're pointing out that 5G conspiracy theory believers are blaming the technology for the virus even when there are many affected countries with no 5G whatsoever.

Recently flew and it was spooky how empty the MSP airport was of people but how over staffed the TSA was. I'm not sure if it was to try an avoid layoffs but it was comical how many there were. Also the whole flight crew were very on edge but I was happy to see everyone wore their mask.

It might have to for a while, with exceptions of course.  Think about it: would passengers or airlines really want to wonder whether or not everyone aboard a given flight will survive?  If you mandate vaccinations for those who can get them, you not only reduce the changes of someone getting sick, you reassure passengers who've been spooked since March.  It's either that or mandatory COVID-19 tests for everyone before you even get to the security check.

Temperature tests will probably be required for flights for a while. Probably also wearing a mask of some sort, since planes are rarely ever perfectly sanitized between flights and are a breeding ground for diseases.

At least in California you are required to have certain vaccinations before students can enter public schools. And of course there have been protests over that. I remember my parents reading the form to make sure I had all of them. There have been measles outbreaks at some schools to hurt their point. So I wonder if the COVID-19 vaccine will be required for said schools.

It's perfectly in the realm of possibility here. There would be angry people, but airlines are no different than other companies. The same as they can kick you off a flight for being unruly, overly drunk, a safety hazard, and really any reason they want to. They can use the "right to refuse service to anyone" if they don't provide vaccination records. Alaska airlines requires masks on passengers over 12 years old and actually enforces it.

I already posted this in a status update but this whole COVID-19 situation plus America's aggressive "every man for himself" mentality coming out full force plus people thinking it's "just the flu" because the flu is also caused by coronaviruses or even outright a hoax by those durn commies in China and Democrats (who are apparently far-left) has not been good for my anxiety.

The mask doesn't do much by itself to protect you from others -- it's to protect others from you.

 

If you cough, sneeze or even breathe when you're wearing a mask, the viruses will have a much harder time traveling far.  Combine that with everyone else wearing a mask and the chances are fairly slim that you'll get sick.  This does not mean you can ignore social distancing rules when they're in place, but you won't have to panic quite so much if someone with a mask gets too close.

 

This is also why the next stage of dealing with the pandemic will likely involve mandatory mask use in many public spaces, possibly for any time you're in public. As it'll be difficult to resume something resembling normal life without people sometimes getting too close, having everyone wear masks creates an environment where it's difficult for the virus to 'casually' spread.  To some extent, you're already seeing this with some of the stores that are either staying open or reopening, such as Apple and Costco.

According to an LA Times article, a lady at one such protest was providing free haircuts. Pretty certain the site is behind a paywall, so I won’t link the article here.
