  1. The cost difference between replacing an entire logic board, compared to replacing a small component in it, would dictate that. Not only for the person performing the repair, but also for the person commissioning it.
  2. Apple, especially recently, presents itself as caring for the environment, but they'd rather change an entire logic board, for example, instead of changing a few bad capacitors/resistors. So yea, having the ability to repair rather than replace would be doing humanity a great service. Sure, along with a lot of other repair shops, and the customers who get to save money. Citation needed. You're ignoring the hundreds to thousands of people that will benefit from this. Either by saving money or by making it. The only people who will "suffer" from this are billi
  3. I want to add to this question. @avg123 Are you against the bill due to a genuinely held belief, or due to your ignorance of what it actually means? If it's the former, then please name those beliefs so everyone can start over, maybe. If it's the latter, then your aversion and hostility towards it should not be taken seriously by anyone here until you learn what it really means. Just an FYI, "Right to Repair" has been, and continues to be, a fight in the automotive industry, the farming industry, etc., this one is related to tech (not just Apple), but it's not the on
  4. I've said (a variation of) this before, but some people unironically act like they're a bunch of megacorporations dressed in a trench coat.

  5. From what I remember, it's in the single digit percentages (that Floatplane themselves take). It goes something like this: a small % goes to the payment processor, a small % to Floatplane, the rest to the creator. Both the payment processor and Floatplane take single digit %, if I'm not mistaken. I think they mentioned this before, but I don't know if they mentioned specific, or ballpark, numbers.
  6. Apple is a publicly traded company, a lot of information regarding their finances are/should be made public. At least that's my understanding of it (not of what Linus said, didn't watch). While Floatlane, and LMG, are not public, thus their finances (and intricacies like revenue splits) don't have to be disclosed to the public. Especially when you're talking about a "per creator" agreement, where there might be differences between one creator and another (not saying that there is, just saying that it complicates things)
  7. Just got back from the clinic, got 2 injections, 1 IV and 3 prescription pills, but I still don't know wtf is wrong.

I am feeling a bit better, at least.

How can you not have been told what's wrong with you?

      Nope, nothing.

They just said if it continues then get a covid test.

@Benji You'd be surprised how often the diagnosis of a patient is "chest pain with arrhythmia" or similar. There might not be a named disease or one that pays well and can pass insurance claims.

  9. How do y'all deal with demotivation and burnout?

I have a lot of work to do, but I just... can't. I can't seem to physically and mentally get myself to start/finish my work.

When I am mentally stuck at work I just say to myself "Only 42 more years and I can retire". Then I immediately quit and go crying in my bed.

      Can't recommend.

Not but seriously, I am stuck like this rn too and it's really annoying 😞

Thank you, everyone, for the helpful replies.

Forgot to mention, but personally, what help bring my concentration and motivation back is music. Trying things is a good idea, and unfortunately it's not something that you'll be able to fix overnight. So don't beat yourself over it and try to take it one day at a time !

Oh wow, I'm really sorry that you're in this state, that's not fun 😞

The pandemic isn't helping any of us ! I genuinely hope you'll get better. Talking to a friend might help.

Thanks but It's really not that bad, I certainly can't complain. Work is just crazy annoying right now and many people already think about quitting and searching something new but I am just really lazy 😕

  10. I don't think there are any, at least not to my knowledge. Most, if not all, exchanges have a "know your customer" process. This is especially important if you live in a country that'll require you to pay taxes based on your trades.
  11. From Jan 2021: (scale in millions) I don't think this includes their WhatsApp and Instagram users.

  13. I need a service that tells me the name of the people who are contacting me from out of the blue, like, just sending "hello" then trying to call immediately afterwards. With zero context before or after the one-sided interaction.

These people usually send messages before tests, so I think you'll find them annoying.
