Creator of the Palm Pilot and WebOS, bombed out of the smartphone market and was purchased by HP. Chinese smartphone company TCL snatched up the rights to the Palm brand in 2014. The company is launching the "Palm" phone. You're getting a 3.3-inch 1280×720 display with a respectable 445ppi. My Thoughts:
OMG Palm isn't dead! Wowzers! Am I too old to remember this company? Regardless $350 is a lot to ask for something so small, but knowing TCL and their numerous products in top sellers, only time will tell how well this phone will do.

Why the advertiser friendly is anyone buying this tiny phone?

 

What reason is there to buy this if you already have a phone?

If you didn't have a phone and had $350 to spend, you could probably get a lot better devices for the money.

I shall call this device the "pam pam" from now on.

Also, honestly I wasn't too sad that Palm was gone, *hazy memories of the Palm Pilot come back* but it kind of suits this device, since it's tiny like an early smartphone, and Palm in my mind is a out-dated company name.

every ones calling this a failure, and it will fail, but I kinda want one. I miss smaller phones, even with my bigger hands. 99% of what I use a phone for is 2fa, reddit from toilet, and chat apps. I don't even really like smart phones you just practically need them these days.

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

My beef: this feels like a smarttwatch for people who don't want to admit they should get a smartwatch.  You can do more on this due to the screen, of course, but I'd rather have something that I can justify carrying with me every day instead of just those times when I don't feel like putting a bigger phone in my pocket.

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

jokes aside i kinda like the concept, would be better if it could use it's own sim, had an headphone jack and was priced between 80 and 100 bucks.

It acts as a smartwatch, but it isn't and that gives it extra points in my book cause the larger screen (compared to a smartwatch obviously) means it can do much more, mind you it's almost as big as an iphone 4 without the ginormous bezels and a sharper screen. 

But at 349 it's hard to justify, and being esclusive to a single carrier available in just one country is just sad.

 

welp at least they can stop complaining, and who knows maybe palm will manage to break imessage's restrictions like they used to do with itunes for webOS

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!

I would love a slightly smaller phone, but this might be pushing it a bit.
