Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Welcome to the forums and to the thread as well :D

Nice car you have there :D Good to know it doesn't break down. A reliable race car / daily is something not many have the chance to get a hold of.

Thanks! The only real thing is it gets horribly out of alignment thanks to all the lateral loading I've put it through. It still gets 35mpg when I'm not pounding on it, and with a full set of Blizzak WS-80s, it is a real head-scratcher in the snow when people stuck on flat ground see me plowing through snow banks like it's nothing.

Well the cable is under the asphalt, they're backfiling the hole with what i think is cement. The have a bigass vacuum that sucked all the shavings out of the hole. As you can see its all sand under the road. The whole town is built on sand. We're ten min away from the beach.  So... i'm not sure of you feel better or worse knowing that.

Worse.

This is the hole they cut, and two hours later the fiber is in. Its pretty neat stuff real stiff by the looks of it compared to a normal cable. Kinda like a garden hose made out of pvc pipe. I didnt touch it or anything, just watched a worker try to pick up a section of it down the street. And theres the spools they have sitting over next to the strip mall. Neat shit.

Its not going into the houses, just on the lots utility box by the looks of it

The contractors that did that on my old street were clearly the lowest bidder.. They dug trenches and made our street look like a WWI battlefield.

The contractors that do the job at your place clearly have the right equipment.

@vinyldash303 you should see little cable that they actually run into specific homes. it's tiny lol

They are also one of the few cables that sometimes get a protective net

That green stuff on the left.

... Did not stop me though.. I've gone through a couple on accident...

Hey all, first post. Been a fan of LTT for quite a while, and been creeping around here for a while. I've had my 2005 Cobalt SS/SC since 06, been dailied through hell and high water, and 12 New England winters thanks to a set of dedicated Blizzak WS-80s. I've done a few track days with it, 2 at NHMS and 1 at LimeRock Park. Looking to either get out to Watkins Glen or Club Motorspots (Less than an hour from my house!!), and done about 300 1/4 mile passes with a best at 13.9 @102. I've done a few mods as stock parts have worn out. Sportline springs, short throw shifter, GMPP clutch, Fidanza lightweight FW, P&P the supercharger, 3" intake, (LOUD AF) rotated mounts, sway bars, HID lights+fogs, might have a couple others. Been a long time since I've really put some money into it. It just doesn't die.

Heres one of the cuts for it. S10 doesn't spin the tires from a launch, and i dont want to light up a $700 set of tires until i have new ones ordered and that won't be for ~24k hopefully.

700? i'm assuming that's for all 4, since i really doubt you'd spend 700 on only 2 tires just to light them up.

I don’t know why, but I’ve been really lazy lately. I need to force myself to get out of the house and do something. Or buy something for the car just so I have something to do that doesn’t involve me sitting or laying down (lol)

Ive been doing this for like the last month... it’s making me mad at myself. I miss the old me that always wanted to be outside

Yeah it's a bit low. The camber is okay, not too bad. Tire stretch is... Acquired taste.

So, great way to get ran off the road, pull out prematurely in front of me, drive below 30mph and point to a speed limit sign saying 35mph.

Yeah $700 is for the set. 225/75/15 Toyo AT2s. Great tires. Only had one puncture. They sustained 45 mph on a gravel road for an hour or so, did all of the road trip on a single rotation, i've curbed them a bit, done summer, winter, wet, all the things in thes tires. They're awesome. Only thing i wish was that the corners of the tread didn't wear as quick as they do so I have to rotate them more often than I'd like, but its a 75 aspect tire, and schwab won't add any camber.

How are they in terms of on road grip? i wanna try offroad tires on my van even though that sounds absofuckinglutely stupid lol

I've goooooot.. wildpeaks? I can throw the F-150 in to corners at 85 and I've still got plenty of grip. I think his tires might be better for grip too.

I have a  green Mazda 2 (1.3L 3-door 2010 model) went in for it's MOT and service earlier this year, it's developed an annoying squeak noise when I accelerate in 1st/2nd gear. It only seems to happen when I accelerate away from a standing start, such as lights, or moving in slow traffic or slowly navigating a car park looking for a space, where I'm constantly changing from 1st/2nd/1st etc. The faster I accelerate, the louder the squeak. If pull away in a nice smooth and slow motion, it doesn't squeak. When it goes in for it's MOT and service next year, I might get the garage to take a look.

Also, it sounds like I have a leaf or something stuck inside my vents. Just ticking away when my fans are on. I've tried to blast it out and left my fans on constantly high for ages and it's still there! It's starting to drive me crazy!

Stop and think a second, something is more than nothing.
