Can I put a 5700X3D on a A320 motherboard?

Hello, my current motherboard is the MSI A320M-A Pro M2, could I replace my Ryzen 3 3200G with a Ryzen 7 5700/5800X3D or should I get a B550 motherboard with VRM cooling first? It's that or buying a entirely new pc on AM5 or Intel's LGA1700 or whatever their new platform's gonna be.

A new (decent) B550 motherboard and a 5700X3D would be around $350 and a new am5 system with decent mobo and ram (32gb of 6000 CL30) would be about $50 more so I'd get the am5

Can you give me a couple of recommendations? my budget for a mobo is around $150.

with a 5700X3D that'd be brought up to $400 the same for a better performing, longer lasting am5 system

Can? Yes.

Should? Probably not.

VRMs will be struggling like a USB port trying to power a whole pc. Get a solid board to make the most of a CPU like that.

Yeah even lower-end AM5's will probably outperform the 5700X3D

Much better for longevity

How is the ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2?
I don't need 4 ram slots since I won't be upgrading from 32gigs of ram, and I have a external wifi card I can use instead of integrated.

it's good but the b650m-a wifi has slightly better vrms and, as a user of both, MSI's bios is better than asrock's (though both of my experiences on them were on am4 so they could be different)

If you really need to save the money you can get the asrock but I'd get the msi for only about $20 more

You can always buy a new mobo AFTER you tried it with the old one. Worst case scenario your PC will shut down due to overheating VRMs. At this point you still didn't break anything. Best case scenario it just works. You're not gonna be overclocking an X3D processor anyway so it's not like you need the extra features a B or X series mobo would bring.

According to the supported CPU list, the motherboard does support the 5800X3D. Just update your BIOS and put in the new CPU. Then run a few benchmarks to see if you're at the expected performance levels and you're good to go.

If your CPU is throttling or you're running into stability issues you can still switch out the motherboard.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

its stupid to buy new am4 anyways considering the pricing of boards and cpus with the only exception being the 5700x3d

if the vrms have any issues point a fan over em and problem solved

if you want to do a board swap save abit more money and jump to am5 cause buying an overpriced b550 is gonna get you nowhere when the time comes to upgrade

In Poland the motherboard you suggested is around 750 zł or approx $185, while the ASrock is 520, with the AX200 that will total to 600 zł or $150, but expanding my budget is only going to help, so I think I'll take your word instead of trying to weasel around my motherboard budget.
