Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Just now, terrytek said:

I forgot I can just buy a sack of potatoes for like 2 bucks and then stuff them with sour cream onions and cheese and call it a meal. That totally slipped my mind. Now i just need an induction cooker so i don't trigger fire alarms while cooking or kill ourselves with gas.

Potatoes are fantastic. Though reheating them kinda sucks, at least potato salad is easy to make and fine when it's cold.

Just use a charcoal grill the the dorm, I'm sure it's fine. ;)

I wish I ate them more often. They taste delicious as fuck. Too bad they'll spike my blood sugar, which is something I should worry about bc my parents are diabetic, and i'm trying to avoid that shit. But damn they are delicious. Even cold mashed potatoes still taste good. Cheap delicious food, with some nutritional benefit yay.

sweet potatos are pretty good too. Though I will say you get tired of them if you eat them all the time.

I've grown to dislike sweet potatos because I ate them so much growing up. My mom would always have them as a side for dinner.

Meal planning? never heard of it.

You plan out your weekly dinners, lunches and breakfasts in order to save money. Its pretty great if money is tight.

That's a lot for one.

It is in very good condition and has air lockers front and rear. They aren't too common around here so prices are a bit skewed.

But with it i could park in one of our "parking spaces" outside. (45* driveways down to the garages under the house (Unusable by anything other than a serious off roader..)

Try em cubed and baked in an oven with a little bit of olive oil, paprika, and vegeta (the spice mix not the musclehead). So fuckin good.

Yeah I got tired of them after a while because my mom made them pretty often. Haven't had them in a while though so I'm ready for another plate of 'em. Gotta be careful cooking though, otherwise they'll get mushy. :(

Ive never been a fan of fender mirrors

I love fender mirrors. But they seem out of place on a R32

14 minutes ago, bcredeur97 said:

The R32 is certainly too new of a design for it to look good. IMO it only looks good on those really old cars that have them....  like the 2000GT

I've seen people do it to miatas... always thought it looked awful.

Orignally they were built because of lane narrowness in Japan and putting them on the fenders allowed you to drive a little closer to other cars. But as time went on they weren't as needed and became more of a novelty

I vote anything EVGA, their warranty is fantastic and their customer support can be miracle workers. You'd also want to get the ICX card if you pick EVGA, no fun burning your VRM to the ground.

Potatoes are fantastic.

But sometimes I get so tired of them as they're pretty much the standard side for a meal.

And cafeteria potatoes are borderline disgusting most of the time.

I know right!? xD. I much prefer rice nowadays and i try to keep the potatoes for a few select occasions so i don't tire of them.

Like today. Had some breaded Plaice with a side of potatoes and just covered it in butter. Too damn good.

Cafeteria potatoes are cooked and then steamed for a long while. They always have that thick and awful skin.

I just always associated Hoosier with drag slicks, never knew they made a decent road course tire

oh yeah, and more than just decent... right up there with the best anyone has to offer.

a buddy of mine with a track prepped C7 vette swapped between R7's and Pirelli DH slicks and runs pretty much the same times.  and thats the R7, the A7 is faster, but falls off quicker being an autox tire and all.  but A7 works fine for a time attack car since they do 1-2 hot laps at a time

Sounds real nice.

I tend to also use quite a lot of rice these days. Goes really well with almost any type of sauce.

Its very versatile as far as food goes. And now that i own a wok i can get real creative with it.

Kind of tempted to get a rice cooker. Like a civic. JK  Since it would leave me more time to focus on the other parts of the dish.

Knowing BMW's engines are pretty far pushed from the factory (debatably a bit farther than others).. I'd agree. It's going to need something. I'd assume the crank could take it

That said... on a racetrack you are always above 4k rpm, so perhaps it would be useful, I just worry about slow corners. If he can get it to  spool around 3500 ish like he said, that would def be much better.

2

While I agree it could be fun as once it finally does hit boost its a rocket ship right into the limiter, On the track you are not always above 4K unless that track is 90% straights, and while yes its very possible to just stay a gear lower to keep the rpm up over 4k this would not be best at all. ideally, you want to power on around 2.5k and solid to the rev limiter.

There is a great part in the video where he pulls off next to a Blue Toyota SUV thing and it goes ahead and he floors it and look how long it takes him to pass it, that kind of lag out of anything would make you the slowest out of any corner unless you under gear it and than coming out you holding yourself back speed wise.

I'd go for EVGA, which ever is clocked higher.  EVGA cause they a have the best warrenty (have experience, super easy to deal with) and the higher clocked one cause higher clocked (although performance wise you really won't be able to tell a difference)...  performance wise brand to brand they're all close enough to not really matter
