Reviews of the RTX 3060 Ti have come out. They show that the 3060 Ti performs at around the 2080 Super, and beating the 2080 Ti in some instances.

At $399, this is a pretty compelling GPU, but the actual price you can buy it for is probably going to be $900 on eBay. As someone looking to buy the 3070, I hope that this will alleviate stock of the 3070.

My guess is that it will be like with the other AMD cards.

Roughly the same performance.

Slightly lower power consumption.

Worse ray tracing and features availability (like good video encoding and DLSS).

Roughly the same price.

Apparently this card is about 163% faster than my 1060. It is pretty tempting, but at the same time I feel like my 1060 is more than enough for my needs.

Still, that's a pretty good increase in performance over two generations.

On tech power up it says 234%. I'm in a similar position with my rx 480, though I kind of want to upgrade my gpu so I can record games, but personally I'm looking at the 3060 since it actually fits in my budget.

I had the 3070 FE in basket at launch. Didn't complete before the server died though, although others I was in contact with managed to do it  I don't doubt there will be 3060Ti FE available at MSRP, but good luck completing the purchase.

My supplier will probably run out of stock as quickly as it happened with the other 3000 cards.

But at least my supplier sells at MSRP (well they are official partners of AMD,Intel and others).

 

They price the 3070 at $539.99

The 1660 Ti was launched at $300 while offering slightly better performance then GTX 1660,

With an overclock my 1660 surpassed it and sits between the 2060 and the 1660 Ti/Super.

I must say that the difference in performance from the 1060 to the 1660/Ti is big and very noticeable.

1070 performance for $200 (1660) or $300 (1660 Ti).

I think that the cards at that price range are very good value,unlike cards at higher prices.

It feels like what car makers have done, such as how Honda has repositioned the Civic. They take the originally budget-oriented series and move it up a notch to upsell you to higher-priced models. There will be something to take the place of the old badge, of course, but the hope is that customers will follow the line and spend more.

 

The card is a great value (if you can get it at MSRP, anyway), but NVIDIA probably won't have a true 1060/2060 replacement until there's, say, an RTX 3050 line.

In some games it's still trading blows with the 1080ti which was $600 at launch. A 50% price reduction in 4 years isn't that great.

None of the cards out make me want to turn on RT. And by the time games use it well these cards will be far to slow. 

DLSS competitor is on the way and we still haven’t seen a good encoder comparison. 3.5mbs is a joke. 5-7 720/900P60 and then a 75-150 1440p/4k is what we need

um no. its just more expensive where you are which is very unfortunate but else where the card should be atleast 100-200 cheaper.

A 6700/XT with 10-12GB vram would be nice.

I don't see RT as something I would want to actually use either, have to buy a 3080 and play a game that uses DLSS to have a decent experience with RT, I don't expect AMD's version of DLSS to be as good but something would be competition.

Of course they were available, just not in any reasonable quantities... ie it's called "paper launch" or "lock Angebot" or in English : "bait & switch".

Is it at midnight eastern? 7am?
 

I would like to be able to play PC VR games this year with my Quest 2, before scalpers snag all of them, again.

I saw DF said the price/performance of the 3060 is worse than the 3070, which is only $100 more. Hell, I'd even be more tempted if it was $300. I got my current 960 for $200 and I think that's a good price point Even for older cards $200 barely offers any improvement, Nvidias just been spiking prices.

Yeah, but when? I've waited all year to buy an upgrade, hoping for the 3060, but it's going to cost the same as the 3070

I think it's normally 9 AM Eastern, I may be wrong, as I've never tried to buy a GPU on Newegg right at launch.

It is not strictly a paper launch, which by definition something that is announced by not available at all. It being severely limited doesn't make it into one.

It clearly isn't bait and switch either. This is when you attract people with one product, then offer a different (usually much worse) one. There may be a weak argument for more expensive AIB cards compared to the FE version, but given both are equally unavailable it doesn't qualify there either.

That's true,it is expected that the 3060 will be close to the 2070 Super in performance.

Yeah, but the prices on those can get $250 or higher. I was thinking about getting one, but at this point (This whole year really) with new cards coming out I may as well see what comes out at a reasonable price. If the 3050 is around $200 I'll probably just pick it up.
