My main sticking point in the room... After the overall loss of trust, I'm just going to wait and wait and wait until the year is over before I buy. There are more honest, ethical, and responsible developers I'd rather support.

Wooo, another AAA release which will be split up, sold to the user base in pieces, have multiple editions, DLCs, seasons passes, microtransactions, lootboxes, sponsership deals and will also sell your first born child if you don't agree to sign a contract saying you'll pay them $100 a month.

I did quite like Diablo II back during the stone ages and I think Diablo 4 looks interesting. I'll check reviews once it gets released to see if it's worth buying.

I actually really liked most of the Diablo genre, despite it being a hack and slash type game... this next instalment looks OK, as long as it's not devolved into a paytowin/micro-transactions etc. With Diablo 3 I really loved the co-op ease of play on both xbox one and PS4, one of the few games that my brother and I didn't have a problem playing co-op on, on some games the voice chat was so screwed we couldn't carry on playing... in case someone's wondering, we needed voice chat because my brother's not great with games and needs direction, and also he lived in Australia for a long time, but now lives with me.It's not so bad nowadays since discord can be used on xbox.

Kinda just looks like D3 with better graphics to me but I'm not sure how revolutionary the gameplay could be given the genre. I'm more or less ok with this

D3 has only had what....one DLC pack?

Aside from some additional players. Also the whole game mechanic is essentially a lootbox so I doubt they'll have that.

I couldn't even imagine how one would play that game on a console.

It's pretty good actually, but I do understand what you mean in some respects.

 

With my disabilities it's actually a LOT easier for me to play on consoles, than it is for PC... unless of course the game supports using a controller on PC, in which case it's pretty much the same of course.

I liked the diablo franchise, but D3 was a bit meh to me, I like Path of Exile a lot more as far as the genre go in recent years. So I'm gonna wait until it cost like 15$, on G2A, before buying this new one.

Honestly I cannot see why this is a "4" worthy game at all. The gameplay trailer makes it look like its an expansion for 3. And this is coming from someone with 4000+ hours in d3... We will have to wait and see if they actually bring anything resembling new content to the table

I think public denouncement of a government is over the line. I'd settle for "hey we just realized that we make video games and probably shouldn't be making out-of-game political statements one way or the other."

 

I don't particularly care what side of the Hong Kong debate a company or its owners land on, I just don't want that to be broadly influencing their policy and public statements.
