Avengers Themed Intel Processors (KA line)

Go to solution Solved by NumLock21,

A while back some say those Intel Avengers theme processor doesn't come with anything. Turns out it does.

Summary

The new line of Intel CPUs first seen two weeks ago (discussed in this tech news post) using the letters KA has been announced as a promotion with Avengers featuring Intel 10th gen processors.

These new processors have been seen on a few retailers website already. Prices appear to be about the same as the k versions with some even being cheaper. The listed specs are identical to those of the k series processors.

Not much is known about this new line other than that they will be coming in an Avengers themed box (shown above) and will likely include a copy of the upcoming Avengers game which is set to be released on September 4th.

It appears that Intel is participating in a new promotion that includes its standard 10th-Gen chips inside of a special Avengers-branded box. We first heard of Intel's new 'KA' branded chips two weeks ago, and we wondered what the madness was all about. Was this a new version of the chips? Did they have different specs? Was it just a typo, or a version specific to a local market?

We reached out to Intel to see if they could tell us anything useful, and the company responded to Tom's Hardware with the following statement:

"The listing reference is related to an upcoming partner promotion featuring 10th Gen Intel Core processors. The “KA” designation is an ordering code only and not a new processor SKU."

Intel wouldn't divulge details about the promotion, but we're told that the primary difference between the KA-series and normal K-series is limited to special packaging. Now, as spotted by @momomo_us, Intel has new chips come with special-edition Avengers packaging. A listing can be seen at the KCC Shop, showing a rather pixelated version of this packaging.

(tom's hardware)

My thoughts

I think this is just meant to get rid of some of the 10th gen processors Intel has. I think it will either only have the themed box or include a code for the game but will ship before the game's release on September 4th. I could see some people buying this as a collectors item instead of using it. I also didnt see any US, UK, or Canada retailers mentioned in the list of those that already have listings for this so it might not be available in those countries.

You know that's the whole point of marketing right?

I doubt it's any good when it comes to conducting heat. If it was, then... well this wouldn't work very well.

then again an entire savanna-ish nation has the stuff in their bodies and their clothing (and they don't seem to feel hot at all), so...

Well that would mean it's perhaps good at radiating heat away from the body, but I reckon covering yourself in a heat conducting metal in the african savannah wouldn't help to keep you cool, quite the opposite xD

intel, how about actually making good products rather than doing weird things nobody asked for or wants...

free game with purchase isnt anything new and brings down the price if you consider you are spending on said game

overall most shit is optimized for intels skylake +++++(might have missed a +)

now is it worth it vs same priced cpus becomes subjective on persons needs

This kinda seems like a desperate marketing attempt IMO, Intel could be giving out a free game with their CPU's without needing to sell a special box.

Intel has lost it all.

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

I'm Swiss and my Mother language is Swiss German of course, I speak the Aargauer dialect. If you want to watch a great video about Swiss German which explains the language and outlines the Basics, then click here.

If I could just play Videogames and consume Cool Content all day long for the rest of my life, then that would be sick.

I read that as "Intel could be giving out a free game with their CPU's without needing to sell a cereal box."

Yes, and there you have it; An Avengers box of cereal with Intel inside as the prize at the bottom.

Because this whole marketing shtick is juvenile as it is, so why not?

but couldnt it just absorb the heat since it absorbs kinetic energy and heat is basically the kinetic energy of particles. so you wouldnt even need a cpu cooler the vibranium IHS will just cool it by absorbing all the heat.

To be fair AMD has done promotional deals with free games with both their gpus and cpus alot longer than Intel and I am sure that for some people it will entice them if they were already planning on buying the game. Also for those who were already planning on buying the CPU it is also a nice bonus. I personally don't mind either company adding free games to products that I was planning on buying anyways.

but it's a bad look to do these random things now instead of fixing the problems
