Intel PR sent out a last-minute “call us before you write” email to most of the press, but not SemiAccurate, after hours last night. You could infer that they are suddenly really worried about something.

In the filing, the company goes into detail about the long and bitter rivalry between it and its much larger competitor over the years. It shined light on a systemic employment of underhanded and anti-competitive practices to muscle AMD out of the market.

Clearly Intel is afraid of something, or at least are taking pro-active action in trying to reduce the AMD threat as soon as possible. I personally think that them trying to meddle with 'independent' reviewers before they release Ryzen reviews is absolutely shameful, and should be actively discouraged. 

 

Therefore when the embargo is lifted on March 2, I believe the tech community should take a close objective look at each review, and make their own conclusions based on the benchmarks provided, as the reviewers own benchmarks may or may not be influenced. We will have to see.

I hate these kind of rumors. There's no basis for said rumors nor any proof thereof. Yes Intel was caught doing shady things before... 10 years ago. If you're going to put out a rumor like that, you better have substantial proof of said evidence.

As I said in that thread: this sounds like what the mafia does. Not that Intel haven't shied away from mafia tactics in the past.

Granted, it could be a hoax but it's not like Intel haven't done it before. So maybe Intel is just trying to be helpful?

you have to look at the sites individually and make your own determinations. but it does seem to me this is a pro Intel and nvidia site. Follow the money. we'll have to wait and see what happens in the next 2 weeks.

the WCCF thing. I've noticed some really good stuff coming from that site over a span of years. I see no reason to bash it or discredit anything. And it won't be the first time a manufacturer has "bribed" reviewers or review sites. All you have to do is look through the history.

I agree, the point of competition is to out-compete other companies. However when companies accused of having a near-monopoly of a market tamper with what supposedly independent reviewers may be saying about competing products, its corruption and anti-competitive
