Apple goes 'full retard ' and puts a charge port on the bottom of the magic mouse 2

Syntaxvgm

I once heard Steve Jobs hated visible wires, like A LOT. - I think we all agree with that, a clean look is a nice look.
But I think even he would think this is bad. If you need to have a cable, you have to make that cable look as proper and clean as possible.

That isn't clean! That is ugly for X min every Y hours!

I kind of get it. Sure it isn't the best place, but it is the only place. I mean top is a no go. The top and under side is no space. On the left and right side is akward. So only place is on the buttom.

The thing that I wanted to see is a usb-c connector and not that lighting thing.

It is not the only place. I think it's mind blowing that people don't realize that Apple designed the entire thing. The only reason why there is no space on the front is because Apple did not make any space for it there. They could if they wanted, but they didn't want to.

It is the only place for the port because Apple made it the only place for the port.

I don't understand why so many people are calling this stupid. Apple is my favorite company but the mouse fucking sucks. For every reason other than this. Two minutes for nine hours is fine. Lets make fun of every other aspect of the mouse, I don't see whats so bad about this aspect. The lack of ports is what makes it look so nice (The only thing the mouse has going for it).

what the hell is wrong with apple... They should've just made it wireless charging and sold you separately a "mouse pad" that could charge the mouse with.

For me, every interruption is a drop in efficiency. Even such a short period of time like two minutes is going to disrupt my ability to give continuous thought to a topic, and that's not something I want as a college student. And the price...Why on Earth would I spend $80 for a drop in efficiency? I currently use a $2 wired mouse I got at Goodwill, and I don't have to worry about it randomly stop working; it has no strings attached. I plug it in and it just works, something I value in products, and something Apple usually nails down. But, this Magic Mouse 2, I have to worry about it dying, carefully remember by when it will lose all its charge so I can determine if I have to take the charger with me, and if I forget and the mouse dies, I'm sore out of luck. If I want to use Photoshop for my Computer Graphics Technology class, that's practically impossible to do with my laptop's trackpad, if I want to do Chemistry or French homework, I have to click a lot(i.e. I have to click a button to place accented letters in French or place reaction arrows in Chemistry), and that makes me lose a lot of speed and precision.

So, no, screw that, screw this dumb product. I will not deal with this drawback because it decreases the Magic Mouse's usability versus other products'. No matter how big or small you consider this issue, you cannot deny it is a drawback of the product. Therefore, if I can find some other device without it but equivalent performance in other departments, I would choose that instead of this.

And that is why I went with a real wireless mouse, that as it happened also had a weighted scroll wheel. There are some out there that only need their set of rechargeable (if your not using alkaline) batteries every year or so which is as simple as taking a precharged set, installing them then putting the drained batteries on charge.

He'd probably facepalm then ask the people behind it. "What the fuck is this shit"?

I don't think he would just say that, somebody would have been fired, wireless charging would have been neat, but not something like that, it looks like a dead mouse on its side xD.

Yep.

No words.

Sure 2 minutes charge lasts 9 hours, but.......wow....

I have no words. First a laptop that not only was smaller than the air line and removed the magsafe connector and can't be charged and use a wired peripheral at the same time without adapters, now a mouse you can't use while charging.

What's next? An Imac that's curved backwards that you can only use in a mirror?

Where else do you want them to put it without paying a fuckton of money for a dock? I don't see how stupid this is, it's actually pretty smart from an engineering standpoint because you don't have to buy a dock and you only leave it like that for two minutes and it lasts 9 hours, as you said, which is actually impressive.

Aside from that, because that's not the point, I think that this is a great idea because you don't see it and you don't have to pay for a dock or anything. There's nothing wrong with this mouse! Blasphemy I say!

If your phone had quickcharge, would you like the port on the BACK of the phone? It doesnt need to be plugged in very long...

On the back with quickcharge vs. the normal position without....I'd probably take the back position with quickcharge.

The magic mouse has always been (actually all of Apple's mice have been) terrible. The new magic trackpad and keyboard both have charging ports in directly behind on the side so I don't know why the mouse isn't too.

I disagree with the mac pro, I think that's pretty good, but everything else is pretty retarded. This is just plain stupid, all they needed to do was have the front not slope as much and stick the charging port there, then it can actually be used as a normal mouse. Think I'll go for the mx master instead apple, at least that's a successful design piece.

I think the new mac pro missed the point of the mac pro. It was apples only true desktop experience, and most editors that use it use a ton of drives in it for raw footage. Now they use a trash can you can't replace the gpus on and thunderbolt docks.

If the charging port were anywhere else, it would ruin the design aesthetic. Isn't that why apple designs the way it does?

Yea but it's a terrible design and not having the lip all of the way won wouldn't require much change. The damn mouse is terrible and it needed a redesign anyway

Top.

And you may like the magic mouse, but in my daily experience with it when it first started shipping with the macs, I met almost no one you used it and like it. In fact, out of all of apple's terrible mice, it might be close to the worst, imho. The previous was bad, but it had side buttons and fit in your hand somewhat.

So it really needed a redesign anyway. Most people I've found at least pair a new mouse with their mac, and sometimes buy a wired mac keyboard. their keyboards are good, but since they are Bluetooth they drain pretty fast.

I remember using that sum'bitch in graphic design class in high school. I hated it. Absolutely hated it.

They still use those at my uni's computer section and while I prefer os x to do work stuff on, I'd rather resort to a gross membrane keyboard that doesn't register my keystrokes and a typical dell mouse than use that apple mouse.
