I agree that its terrible to use, but Im sure that some people do like it. I can see it being good for basic web browsing, but anything more demanding its unusable. However if for example, my func MS-3 was wireless and had a a quick charge usb-c port on the bottom, I wouldnt have a single issue, and I'm sure most people would agree. Maybe we should be bashing Apple for their overall mouse design instead :P

I do hate it, but people don't bash them on that any more, they've given up trying to help apple make better mice

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Is this stupid from a practical point of view? Yes.

 

But from an industrial design point of view that melds with Apple's design philosophy? It makes perfect sense.

 

There is now an uninterrupted continuous line around the mouse. At no point does the mouse betray it's curve. This mirrors their design philosophy for all their products: Appearance first, function later. And what can I say? People go for that. Don't know why precisely, but they do.

As demonstrated in the video, though, Apple’s new Lightning Dock intended for iPhones makes for a handy Magic Mouse 2 dock as well.

Seriously. Apple makes shit mice, but I don't see why this is a problem. I'd never use an Apple mouse but for many reasons aside from this.

Trackpads and the keyboards they use in the MacBooks are fucking amazing. Couldn't even imagine trying to navigate Mac OS X with a mouse rather than a trackpad to be honest.

Now if only someone designs a mousepad with wireless charging capabilities, along with the mouse to get wirelessly charged. Perhaps a switch on the mousepad would trigger the charging, hence making sure that the batteries arent ruined.

Lets be honest here, it isn't  THAT  bad.

 

What's worse, not using your mouse for two minutes while it charges or not being able to use your mouse until you find new batteries for it. (This is excluding WIRED mice)

 

If the price tag on it was so god damn high...I buy one for my laptop purely for the slim design.

I can replace my batteries in 30 seconds. As in, going downstairs to get them, coming back, and putting them in. It's not hard.

Eneloops are seriously the best damn batteries you can buy...

 

And Microsoft's Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 is an inexpensive simple no bullshit, single AA battery with long life simplicity at it's finest IMO.

As much I will accept that this isn't the best design decision, why are we having a whole post about it? Just place it with the Apple magic mouse 2, magic keyboard 2 and magic trackpad 2 post. I doesn't deserve a post on its own.
