lol

Something about stupid games and stupid prizes seems pretty fitting.

They must have some kind of way to unlock it. What if the batteries die?

"When you consider artificial intelligence playing a role in our most intimate moments, it can put your mind into a bit of a tailspin. From smart sex toys to bots that offer companionship and sex, artificial intelligence is changing the future of intimacy. This reality is boosting business for companies rushing to develop products. At the same time, the very idea makes some people excited about the possibilities and leaves others consumed with concern."

I'm annoyed by every piece of code with conditional logic (read: literally every piece of code) being called "artificial intelligence".   Or nested loops "machine learning".

Isn't being trapped in this device and not having control over it exactly what the people using it want?

apparently that is true for some of the victims, as i read that one of the people "fell victim" multiple times lol

Could also be that they thought it was fixed, but it happened again. Not sure though.

Summary

Smart chastity cage manufacturer didn't secure the API used to control the device, allowing remote attackers to lock it and demand $750 worth of BTC.

My thoughts

Another case of badly secured IOT device. At least this time no one (that reported the incident to Motherboard) was caught wearing it.

My reaction would be this meme, when I know that IOT is the future we're heading to, and it's not very bright as of late.

You know, I made a joke about this very thing happening about... three months ago when this story popped:

and it's like, gee who'd see that coming....

Some people like to play with temperature. Why not heat things up in the bedroom with oxy acetylene.

Weird fetish but okay.

Isn't a fetish inherently weird to begin with? Granted I think most people are weird in some way or another so I wouldn't judge people as I know some of the stuff I do is weird to other people.

Hmm Why would any Man wear this in the first place? BTW Were Chastity Belts for young Women actually ever used? Or was that just a Middle Age Gag parodying how seriously Society at the Time took wither or not a Bride was still virgin on her Wedding night?
