Yes, It is. Not everyone has to like guns. Gun advocates use "anti-gun" like a derogatory term.

Do I think YouTube should ban these gun videos? Sure, otherwise advertiser are going to pull out and everyone loses money. There should be an alternative for people to watch these kinds of videos. Maybe live leak or just go full patreon with it.

Seems you misinterpret my reply. "your interpretation" is reference to you saying "acting like its bad". I never "acted" like that, you just assumed it was. My original post was a humorous jab jumped upon with reckless abandon.

Grenade is just a tool also. It should be allowed for civilian use, based on your logic.

If you can just direct me to the target shooting range for grenades ill be on my way. Oh, also do you know where i can hunt deer for food with my abundance of grenades without them getting splattered everywhere? My family is getting hungry and im at a loss on what to do.

Im quite the fan of gun porn, particularly the forgotten weapons guys.  Neat history and engineering behind some of those pieces. Im not sure why a lot of people lable gun owners as some kind of degenerate... for most of us it's just a simple enjoyment of mechanical things. I really have no idea why youtube is out to ban things from hikock45 and forgotten weapons.  Those folks are first and foremost dedicated to safety/education and abiding by the local laws.

I think the correct solution is to startup some kind youtube clone "gun-tube" and have gun friendly advertisers run their ads there.  wonder if youtube could legally separate an offshoot so they keep their advertisers happy.

i don't like guns, but i must say YT is really going crazy and i now understand the gun lovers complaints, i heard they are going to ban videos about the guillotine. As a long time enthusiast of the tool that is the guillotine i'm appalled, i love the forgotten guillotine, to practicing cutting heads of, the enjoyment of the inner mechanics of a guillotine. To go into the woods and cut the heads of rabbits, it's really soothing.

I know there were some problems with mass beheadings in the past but they could have been done it a swiss arm knife, so are we gonna ban videos of swiss arm knifes, i don't think so. It had to be a really sharp swiss arm knife, but if i can do it with a spoon it's totally doable, but i digress, where was i, oh sorry, you suck YT.

First they came for the guns and i said nothing, then the guillotines and i said nothing, what's next, what will you say when they come for the cpu's and gpu's?

And for the haters, there is nothing wrong about a mans love for it's guillotine, and they aren't weapons. Guillotines don't cut the heads of people, people cut the heads of people.

Jeeze guy,  not pulling any punches hey? You get bravo points for your exquisite sarcasm tho.

Nobody ever hunted food with a sword or battleaxe. This is straight up fetishism for weapons with no other use than for cutting people to bits. Ban it.

FPS games are just murder simulators/trainers. Ban videos of them too.

Ban videos of model rocketry. The sole use of the first rockets was to kill people.

Ban videos of horse riding, modern saddle designs were originally intended to keep a rider on his horse after he skewered someone with a lance.

Look how long the war in the middle east has gone on for.....

Look how much money certain people are making from a long war.
If I got some of that $868.7 billion, that the US spends on it's military, I wouldn't want the war to end. That war is my paycheck.
Tell me who I gotta give a bribe political donation to, so the war can continue on!

i suppose the upside of hunting for food with a battleaxe is that you can kill and make the burger in one swing of the battleaxe. Kudos for the efficiency.

Ever remember playing a game back in the day called "myth: the fallen lords".  The berserkers were swinging swords or axes so fast they probably Could make hamburger. In groups they would be making a puree'd steak.

Probably have to sell the meat to mcdonalds tho, no way to sort out the lips and arseholes.

YouTube demonetized pretty much all gun related channels a while back, so the excuse of doing this to keep advertisers happy is hogwash.

This isn't about keeping advertisers happy, it's about getting rid of content that YouTube views as unsavory.

I agree with you , but it would be a guaranteed revenue stream for floatplane. It's not illegal it's just unsavory.

Actually it is illegal in about all of the world but the US.

A guns sole use, in the end, is killing human beings and animals.

Hunting= killing animals

Sport shooting= practicing to kill humans and Animals

Defense= Killing Humans whether justified or not.

I will be completely honest. I am not too fond of guns myself but the fact that people think all videos with guns in them us unsavory is kinda dumb. I mean hunting videos should probably get a pass for these rules imo.

How long before Pornhub replaces YouTube?

Would they change their name? How would the recommended filtering algorithm for SFW and NSFW work?

I can tell you for a FACT that Pornhub's parent company is looking to expand into mainstream stuff. They would be happy to get any publicity that would help them in that direction.

full30Just FYI, I did not read through all 6 pages of this but I did see a few posts about alternate sites that could host firearm videos. There has been one for 2 or 3 years since the last time youtube messed with gun videos. It's called full30 and most of the major gun channels on youtube also post there.

I just had someone give me a link to another site, where some of the YT channels are moving their gun videos.  I recognize some of them already, like Forgotten Weapons and Demolition Ranch.

Looks like I'll be spending a lot of time here.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

That's a false equivalency.  It would look like that if youtube were taking every video in your country and deleting them permanently.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

While I fully acknowledge that Youtube has the right to run their service as they see fit, I have to disagree with your assessment of that "meme".  Suppression of free speech has nothing to do with blocking all speech, and everything to do with blocking "wrong" speech.  You don't think the Nazis burned every book in Germany, do you?  They burned the books that had the "wrong" speech in it, that had the "wrong" thoughts.

Again - just to qualify my statement once more - I'm not saying that Youtube doesn't have the right to do what they wish with their platform.  I just disagree with your definition of what suppression of free speech looks like.
