Reset to stock clocks (had a +20 core + 200 mem OC) but still crashing.

Stopped F@H and rock solid.

Should I lower the clocks?

ahh ok i misunder stood(I read further back now).  but yeah if you are trying to run something else you can try the slider and set F@H to Medium so it isnt Requesting 100% OR pause when gaming as some games just dont like F@H i run all mine on dedicated rigs except Calculon (See my sig) where he gets paused when gaming or in this case making sure i don't go broke folding...he may join the fray tonight.

My GPU's are flying today. Since I did a cooling mod to my 2080 super, It's never been this high before. I put thermal pads behind the memory, so the backplate is now helping to cool the chips.

2.8 - 3.2M PPD. Average was around 3M. I read up on Igors labs that the 2080 Ti's memory ran very hot, so I did a trick that was done on the 3K series GPU's, by using the backplate to cool the memory. It's worked very well.

I have the case airflow inverted in an effort to help with that - the fan below it is intaking fresh air right into it, and so is the side panel fan. But driving a 2080ti with a 450w PSU is definitely inadvisable in general!

EDIT: Should probably also mention I have the power limit for the 2080ti capped at 80%. These just happen to be the parts I have on hand, I'm not trying to kill any hardware!

So I came home to a bunch(5) of WU stuck on upload today... is that an issue everyone has, where they have to restart F@H occasionally to get things to clear out properly? I'm only running 16 threads on my 3950x so there should be plenty of room left over for overhead and background tasks... maybe it's an issue with instability. I had mostly ruled that out since I've run the gamut of typical tests for weeks and come back clean

hah, don't have any gpus that are capable of mining at the moment since my 1070Ti is resting in pieces (worst time, really)

Maybe in a few days once the 1060 I scored off ebay arrives 😛 (for way too much, I might add)

For the $110 each Tesla cost, they're practically worth their weight in gold to me right now since I can enable wddm mode and still game on them!

Same here on all fronts. First, I took off the heatsink and found the thermal compound to be rock solid. Chiseled that away, applied some new stuff and BAM 15 degrees lower even with a single fan hobbling along. Took both the dead and decrepit fans off, zipped a couple of 80s(?) on there and went from an original ~90 degrees (pre-compound and fans) down to 60-65.

I'm planning to do this to my 2060 in the coming months as I have got a dead fan with other on the way out and they have been replaced with OEM fans once before
