Remotely Accessing your Folding Systems - Part2 - HFMnet

HFMnet is a project started by Harlam to monitor folding systems. It only runs on Windows but give a nice tight view of your Folding Rigs.

It is also capable of generating web pages and uploading them to a web server but this functionality is limited due the lack of support for any file transfer protocol other than FTP which WILL send your username and Password in the clear.

 

Other functionality includes an ability to send email notifications on Hung Clients.

 

I'll add some screenshots after I get home from work but here is the default web page:

So I have this running to manage my main rig, but I can't seem to connect to my remote rig. I put my IPV4 in both the remote client and the address for HFMnet, what am I doing wrong?

Your running hfm on both? you only need to run it on one and it uses TCP port 36330 to connect to the others just like the FAHControl. If it's not picking up the remote it might be a windows firewall issue

When you add a v7 client click on the "Test Connection" button - that will tell you if it can reach the FAHClient on the remote machine

I can’t get the address to work, the port seems ok because I can get it to connect to my main rig. The software is only installed on that. I think the problem is that I don’t know if I should do just my IPV4 on the remote client along with the default one, or do the range on the remote system and use my IPV4 to connect. Either way, it doesn’t work. Both firewalls for the FAH client are open, so I don’t think that’s it.

Putting the range in (typically 192.168.1.0/24) along with 127.0.0.1 on the remote FAHControl configuration is probably easiest as per my previous post (or just the IP of the HFM system and 127.0.0.1 if you dont trust the other users on your network) then specify the exact IP for the remote system on the HFM.net
