Walmart selling Stealth hoodies

Don Beto

Does not surprise me one bit, once you come up with a design that is manufactured in china (and I am assuming this is where LMG is buying them from?), its basically open season.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Similar, but no where near the same. Different pockets, completely different colors.. yes I know its black and grey, but look no where near identical... wrist cuffs are different.. while the chest area is similar, IMO its the only part thats similar.

It's a similar design - but come on.. It's a gray hoodie with some gray shape on it..

Uhhh, I hope you realize that LTT didn't come up with the design of the hoodie. They simply found it in always supplier catalog and added their logo to it. The way these factories work is that they have a generic design catalog of pieces that they can make, individuals or other companies like LTT can view the catalog and decide what they want their logo on. Other companies can do the same thing using the same garment, unless the initial person pays for exclusivity (which would be a huge sum of money that I doubt LTT would pay)

Nobody is copying anyone else, they are simply using the same supplier.

And Walmart is making a profit by selling it at that price. Let that sink in for a moment.

Linus has to pay the bills some how, YT ad revenue isn't worth much anymore. In video ad's, sponsored videos, and merchandise are a channels life blood these days. If you like a channel you may choose to support it by buying something from their store with the understanding a portion is going back to support it. Walmart is just a hot pile of garbage anyway you look at it.

It's not the LTT "Stealth" Hoodie, it's just one with a vaguely similar design.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Walmart one uses trash materials and is poor quality in general compared to the LTT hoodie.

Yep. Clothing has some of the highest margins.

Also, it doesn't surprise me. This design isn't new. LTT probably saw it and said "print our stuff on it!"

With their volume and crazy high CPM, they're pulling millions in ad revenue every year. Not to mention that similar sized channels have revealed six figure sponsorship prices. They're definitely not hard up for money, their clothing is just overpriced because they know people will buy it anyway.

Hoodies don't have zippers. ;) Don't know what those are.

The bigger question, is everything in the LTT shop so overpriced? WTF??

-kp

They're not overpriced, from what I've seen from others who got the stealth hoodie or swacket, they're just very well made. Aka actually nice clothes vs walmart shit, that's mostly the reason they cost more. A small part of it is probably due to smaller batches as well (LTT can't order in the volume walmart can).

Keep in mind walmart is also buying them by the millions so they are getting an entire factory run and as such gets a volume discount. (and a fairly large discount most likely.) I used to work at a walmart, the mark up one items was ludicrous while on others it was selling at a loss. most TVs and electronics where single digit markup, TVs especially. it was not uncommon to lose 2-5% per TV, but make it up on movies at 15-20% profit, or HDMI cables at 50-75% profit. I didn't work in the clothing depts, but I'm willing to bet they got 25-30% profit.

I think you will find that counterfeit goods are not the entirety of their culture.  In fact if you ever meet someone who has spent any significant time in China you will find out that the average Chinese person is no more entitled, greedy or theifish than you average American.

The bulk of their trade is from legitimate manufacturing, problems with counterfeit goods might be a problem at large, but to try and describe is as the entirety of their culture is foolish and uneducated.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
