Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

The piston shape I expected. That block looks remarkably durable for something designed for economy cars. Replace the pistons with standard, lower compression ones, swap the head, and that looks like something that could withstand a lot of pressure.

Or I could be totally wrong and I'm staring at the gasket...

More than likely that's just the gasket.

has the headgasket over it, so it looks weird.

which, the 2.5 turbo is hitting the mazda 6 next year. maybe now that car will sell, and we will see if its reliable.

I certainly hope so. Mazda produces some really durable stuff so long as they stay well away from turbos...

Uhh, yolo I guess. Perhaps they should just work on wringing out N/A for all it's worth. That they seem to do better than any other.

They pretty much did, though they were going for a wide powerband instead of HP.

Now just put that in a mazda 3, with AWD.

Bam, 3rd generation Mazdaspeed 3. Mazdas also are known to have good manuals, so it can be a very viable Focus RS/ CTR/ Golf R competitor. Plus i'm sure a lot of people are waiting to see it.

Just don't make it too boyracer like the CTR/RS. Take the Golf R model.

idk I quite like the boy racer look. i kinda liked the 2nd gen over the 1st gen mainly bc looks. it just looked more aggressive. though i do like the 1st gen's sleeper looks. Mazda should keep it subtly aggressive, maybe a nice wing, a small front spoiler, and some bigger wheels.

I much prefer the Sedan look. I don't need anyone even getting a hint of what I do when I get bored during my commute. :P

I am fond of the dopey-looking smile of my own Mazda, which is why it would make a great sleeper.

People say my Miata’s 1.8 is super durable and hard to kill.

i killed one but it was sketchy/not original.

we’ll see how this one goes I guess... I can’t say I’m not nervous though. I get anxious sometimes driving it. Which isn’t fun... I’m supposed to enjoy the thing

IF i ever got a 3, i would go with the hatch over the sedan. It just looks sexier and sleeker than the sedan. The sedan just looks so bleh compared to the hatch.

i mean it's fine to have some great fun and hoon it once in a while. it's probably the constant hooning that will kill it.

I will say they made it look like they worked so hard on it and that it’s actually something new but this on bobistheoilguy says otherwise:

That said... there could be things in it that don’t show up in a typical analysis.

I didn't even know Mazda had a 2.0 liter turbo motor. I only knew about the 2.3, and those of course are notorious for popping blocks. But I think both the Mazda and the ford iterations of the 2.3 are equally prone to breaking on stock power.

Nope, Ford block isn't the same block. An the rest if the engine is completely different from mazdas 2.3T engine.

So, in Europe (I think) the rule is a motorcyclist must ride as near as possible to the curb. Wtf. I do understand that if a motorcyclist rides closer to the right side of the road a car can easily overtake them, but that's the problem, in my opinion. Riders should ride in a dominant position, like, on the left most half of the lane, like, on the middle of that half, if you understand what I mean...

In Finland mopeds ride as close to the curb, but motorbikes must try to ride in the very center of the lane.

i was really just meaning the odd piston design. it's like almost hollow in the middle with a cone shape. looks cool actually... lol

but yeah the rest of the block is pretty normal

i have no idea why but i want to experience temps that low (just once and for a short time)

I'm way too curious... i know it's miserable. But I've never seen anything colder than 25F.. and that was on top of pikes peak last year in late May when me and a friend made a trip out to Colorado. (which i totally need to do again.. with more money next time lol)

the cold didn't feel as bad in Colorado though. idk if it's the humidity here or what but man it gets to you. Feel like you're freezing to death within minutes when it's anything less than 35 lol

O god....I hope it don't get that cold over here in Alabama.

Ugh, I dislike temps below 35F as is.

The one time I saw snow in California is the last time I want to see snow.  Way to cold for my taste.

100F+ on the other hand.  Mmmm, nice Summer weather that be.  :D  Of course, when humidity levels stay low (high humidity sucks...).

I have become way to use to having inside temps at 80F/26.66C.
