Now vegans gets their own cryptocoins

Quote

By harnessing blockchain technology called smart contracts, its founders claim VeganCoin will offer a level of transparency that makes the cryptocurrency “cruelty-free.”

And it looks like they mean business. VeganNation plans to make an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in the future at an unconfirmed date. Comparable to an initial public offering of stock, an ICO is a way for companies to raise funds by accepting other forms of cryptocurrency like Bitcoin.

Isaac Thomas, the co-founder and CEO of VeganNation, has been vegan for two years and hopes that the platform will help make the lifestyle more accessible and sustainable.

It seems that, all current cryptocurrency being used right now isn't vegan enough.

I'm... not sure what to think of this...

On another note Etherium also uses smart contracts and it is part of the (Possibly the most significant?) reason millions of GPUs are enslaved to miners against their wills :D

So I read the whole thing, and the only bit I don't understand is the bit between when I clicked on the thread and then me making this post.

Oh, sure, this makes sense. I mean, you wouldn't wanna be caught supporting virtual animal slaughtering for a little cash on the side.

It was bad enough when they thought a vegan diet was healthy.

Actually, you're onto something there. Veganism is usually co-morbid with environmentalism, and Crypto-mining is harmful to the environment, so that's an extra layer of stupidity right there.

The worst are the ones who are against Nuclear Fusion research because it has "Nuclear" in the name. They're on the the same level as Nazis and ISIS IMHO.
