Not sure if this belongs in this section, but I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere so I just wanted to spread awareness about it. Elric has had to deal with a lot of shit in his life these past years and even so he's pushed forward and kept making quality content for us. He seems to be at a really low point now and needs out support and cheers.

On one hand, I agree with his sentiment in the sense that if a creator wants to do ad integration and sponsored videos - sure, whatever. Let the viewers decide. Numbers go up or stay steady, you made the right call. Numbers go down? Well ya dun fucked up.

 

What I don't agree with, is the extremely aggressive attack style responses. Just tell the people "thanks for your input" or simply don't respond to them.

Dunno lot of controversial news about him from last years back when he was on mobo org where screenshots circulated of him going off on his fans & trolls & regular commentators, quite recently been hearing him being nice to his audience, i dunno . later he revealed his personal troubles & such which is devastating to hear like loosing a part of his legs & all. i really don't know what to call it , it's a roller coaster of things all in all . i really like d the guys presentation styles as in content creation he was among the top tech review channels i visited at that time , after that controversial stuff i tended to avoid it  & then the mobo.org split drama & all & now this.

I want to build off this post.

 

Linus is an example of a YouTuber doing things right. Maybe the best Youtuber from a business perspective. He had the foresight to realize that YouTube was the next TV and build a company that could scale as the popularity increased. Today he is able to do original content like Junkyard Wars & MTV Cribs and has the professionalism to attract big Fortune 500 firms like Nvidia and Global 500 like Renalt. 

 

In contrast Elric is an example of doing things wrong. His channel has featured no innovation and has been losing views for months now. The market is at the point where consolidation will occur and the people with weaker channels will start existing the market. TechnoBuffalo is an example of another channel that will most likely suffer a similar fate.

Looking at some of these screenshots i still dont get why people hate on ad integration. However, his responses are definitely uncalled for. Ive stopped following certain youtubers and reviewers due to how they respond to me or other viewers even if i loved their content

Never really liked his videos all that much. Sucks he got a shit hand though. Kinda ironic he would say all those things to people. Least why Jay gets fed up with stupid people in the comments he roasts them in a funny/creative way. Never seen him say anything vulgar towards someone like this dude did.

I never liked his content as I think he was trying to go at it from a layman's perspective, which I don't like. If I'm going to watch/read reviews on something I want it to be from someone knowledgeable. If I don't understand something, I'll Google what that is and learn something more.

 

I find it pathetic he'd post something like that on social media. Yeah, I get it, he's going through hard times. Guess what. So are millions of other people. It's just a cry for sympathy and attention.

 

He likely lost his business partners for a reason. I'd bet he's partially to blame, judging on his interactions with others.

People lose business partners all the time. You don't say you're going to kill yourself. You pick up, and find another solution.

 

I see it as a money grab. All the points are hit. His wanting to die, lost business, but won't because of his family...so he's using them as a sympathy point. Simply pathetic.
