Personally I only buy things I need and don't spend because I want to spend.

 

But if someone offered me 150 USD right now and I HAD to spend it on something electronic.. I would probably just be some mechanical keyboard items; like some switches a backplate, etc.

That information probably doesn't help you, because again; it's all about what you NEED right now.

$150 is not enough for me to buy an electronic that I really want...

I'd just save it up until I do need it.

Probably a new mouse right about now as the one I am currently using is driving me insane with the middle click button being very easy to mistakenly hit while trying to scroll the wheel and starts driving a web page up or down....otherwise, new case fans( Noctua) for a case that I am anticipating but still can't decide which fan from Noctua to pick for intake...

Then on/into any one of these purchases:

  • CP1500PFCLCD UPS Unit (≈ $210): On my immediate purchase list. Not in my hands yet because Micro Center shenanigans led me down a wild goose chase.
  • Digital Soldering Station (≈ 50.00) + Desoldering Gun (≈ 120.00) + Soldering Mat (≈ 20.00): On my optional spending list. For #KeebWeeb things.
  • FiiO M5 Media Player (≈ $99.99) + SK-M5 Case/Watch Strap (≈ 25.99): On my extremely optional spending list. It's not the best-sounding portable media player/AMP/DAC/IDK on the market, but it is one of the smallest, and I'm prioritizing portability over sound quality.
    • Side Note: When it comes to portable audio, I tend to prioritize durability and longevity over sound quality. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If I had $150 to spend I'd spend it on an MXM Nvidia Quadro M2000M or M1200M for my Zbook, and if I have left over some thermal pads and new thermal paste to go with it.

 

I just want my 4GB of VRAM.

I'd get another one of these as a backup in case my current one breaks. I've never found a better ergonomic mouse for me. I wish it had back and forward buttons, but it's the most practical and comfortable ergonomic mouse I've ever come across, and I'm never sure when it'll be discontinued.

$150 isn't really that much to spend and I'd rather save it at the moment, but if I really had to spend it, I'd see if there's some cheap 8GB DDR4 SODIMMs around for my Odroid H2+. Or some SSDs for my other SBCs. Then again, I could also use a SATA->USB - adapter that supports UASP and SCSI Unmap -- most of them don't support UASP and even fewer support SCSI Unmap.
