I have a ryzen 2600 and a gtx 1660ti on an msi x570 prestige. i'm waiting for the 3950x and ek to make a monoblock. I'm also considering an rx 5700xt. I have big plans for Xerxes 2.0 =^_^= ...it's in beta for now... and the giant fan is for the folding. fans and watercooling stuffs coming soon.

-snip-

Don’t think EK will be making blocks for a 1660Ti, same as they didn’t do for the 2070 (havent looked in a while)

Anyone got experience with the ETA of these WU's? Is it actually accurate when saying 7 days..?

You are at 0.04% complete. That ETA is based off of how long it takes to complete each 1% and by default needs 3 data points to make a real estimate. Since you haven't even gotten to 1% it defaults to 7 days. Give it to 3% and it should get more accurate.

It should be much shorter than this (although CPU WU's can take longer than GPU ones). The F@H client takes a while at the start of each work unit to accurately calculate the ETA/points etc... Give it 15-20 mins, then take another look.

If it’s CPU folding, depending on the cpu - yes it could take this long. On my throttlebook Pro it was gonna be 15 days (i5 7th gen I believe)

I'm GPU folding (doing work on my laptop, but my GPU would otherwise be idle).

This is on a mobile GTX 1050, I'm only getting ~4000 PPD :(

According to this list, the GTX 1050 (normal, but mobile shouldn't be too far off) should get around 130K PPD: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vcVoSVtamcoGj5sFfvKF_XlvuviWWveJIg_iZ8U2bf0/pub?output=html

Ah, I see. I was probably being over dramatic in hindsight :P Now that I am at 1.28% it's already gone down to 18 hours and 120K PPD.

I’m very interested to see how far I get now that I’m at my maximum folding capacity.

I would rather have 14180 than 14191. That b*tch is tanking my PPD of the 2080TI down to 1.5M. 14180 only tanks to about 2M.

The 2060 and 1080 does not seem to be affected from 14180 WUs.

ye that's gpu producing errors like cpus do in prime95 with rounding. if you ignore those, it can go much higher usually.

I know it can go more, it was causing a endless loop of projects being downloaded and not being completed. It also stopped the project that was being worked on (73%) and uploaded it. So not the gpu but the program has made it a limit (for now), till I can mess with it latter but it has apparently given me about a 8-10% boost in points. Still no top 100 for me tho, but maybe I'll break past 150.

I meant not in compute workloads. For benchmarking, basically.

Otherwise you shouldn't push above the point where you get "bad work unit" errors - those mean that the card is unstable and fails in WUs.

My sister: So, what do you do with the "Folding" points you get?

Me: They dont have any value like crypto currency or anything, they're not redeemable, they're just there to promote competition...

My Sister: Oh so you can say "I CHARITIED HARDER THAN YOU!!!"?

Me: Basically ?

that's ok. I'm only using the 1660 for now. I may replace it with a 5700 now or wait next year for "big navi."
