Help needed - Switch tftp

Need help, tftp to switch

Kina new to this and I've been working on getting my Brocade 6610s setup for my deployment. I got the setup started and the Tftp server running on my pc and every time I tell it to pull the config files it just times out. I see the connection start on the tftp server but then time out.

I have changed cables, disabled my firewall and even now directly connected using an auxiliary ethernet port I have.

Connection received from 192.168.1.50 on port 1027 \[25/04 22:20:52.540\]

Factory reset the switch and start fresh?

Also, this looks like a typo

From what I see, the switch is trying to get some kind of binary file, not necessarily a config file ( e.g. the .bin extension ) .

This reminded me from this site where there is some TFTPD suggestion for Windows :

https://fohdeesha.com/docs/brocade-overview.html#setting-up-tftp-windows

So here are some question that may point you the right way :

  • what TFTPD are you using ?
  • Is the firewall disabled (if you're on Windows) ?
  • Did you try getting access with the serial port ?

To be precise, I'm not familiar with Brocade Switches, however the CLI looks quite similar to a Cisco one from what I see here :

https://www.alteeve.com/w/Configuring_Brocade_ICX-Series_Ethernet_Switches

(I almost bought some similar switches, as it seems they support BGP and OSPF 😉 )

Edit : I just checked the zip file and content with an AV (clamAV) just in case something was fishy in the archive on that 1st page, looks clean from my side.
