New tech claiming to "convert sound into high fidelity vibrations"

Mrspiky4

Just found this new tech on Amazon called the Subpac that turns sound from a game into vibrations on your body, it kinda remind me of that fan that blows hot air at you when it sees an explosion on screen or something. I'd love to see an LTT video on this because sadly I cannot afford a 350 dollar piece of possible garbage. But then again it could be cool, they have claims from Forbes and The Guardian, so it's anyone's bet.

Also they say that they're partnered with Andy Rubin, must've been very downhill since the Essential Phone haha

All sound is just changes in air pressure. I don't know what this thing is trying to accomplish other than high quality audio.

Read the headline, read the whole fucking post, still typed that shit out.

Kill me

>new tech

These daft things have been around for years.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. Sounds like that Razer thing which also did pretty much the same thing except "haptics"

I mean if you have a big enough subwoofer then it will cause vibrations. It is sorta ironic because you look at most instruments and they are just the use of vibration to make sound.

isn't computer audio just vibrations

Any sound you hear is just a change in air pressure. This device seems to harness sounds to give a sense of "feel" during gameplay. Kinda like the ButtKicker.

Tbh it looks like a pretty nice thing to play with. Not that I'd use more than once. It's just a subwoofer that you put on your back.

Does it do massages?

That's an F in the profile pic

Old news.

Uses contact speakers so actually works (unlike that wristband stuff that Linus made video about), but is still gimmick. Great back massager with full blast techno, but as a subwoofer for headphones, not so much.
