Discord causing lag in other games?

Pretty much as the title says, been having issues with lag these past few days and have been testing different possibilities, started by playing a few games with everything but my browser open, was fine, then opened my browser and had a vid / something else open like usual and nothing happened, and then when I connect to discord, my ping starts fluctuating and sometimes spiking, anyone else with this issue?

Just to note, I'm on ethernet so there should be very little fluctuations, started about 1-2 days ago and before had never experienced anything like it. any help is appreciated ❤️

Turn off discord ingame feature may help.

I'm jank tinkerer if it works then it works.

if you mean the overlay? then i've never used it, it's always been turned off
