So a leaked review of Covfefe i7 8700K has been published. Let's see if Covfefe will Ryzen over Kaby Lake :)

so they repacked the 7800x? seems like it to me

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

No, it's a completely different die and doesn't have the mesh bus. What they did was slap two more cores on a 7700K.

That fps increase in The Witcher 3 is so sweet... i7 8700k gaming king for certain.

i know, but it performs just like it

With no IPC improvement AMD, can catch up even more. Glad to see 6c12t finaly comes to the mainstream line (Intel side) and the numbers are looking good.

I guess one of the questions between the 8700k and 7800x will come down to the number of PCIe Lanes to the CPU and whether you want Quad Channel memory...

4.5ghz that thing must be on fire. at 4.5ghz on a custom loop Corsair 100i V2 the 7800x pushes to and past 95+  100+ with ease.

Stable at 4.5ghz with any reasonable temp seems dubious.

Similar price to a 7800X, similar performance to a 7800X. The line between the mainstream platform and the HEDT one is getting REALLY vague at that point...
