Also do you know if keeping a white case clean is  a problem? I used to have a white keyboard and it was always a mess.

I had a white 4000D and the outside was OK, cleaning around once a month, but the inside was horrible mostly due to the dust and a few other black particles so i cleaned it about twice a week since it was on my floor upstairs where it was quite dusty

Right now I have a white NR200P (my mum really wanted the case to be white) and it is much cleaner (though the case is basically all filters and it's on a much less dustier platform AND I don't use it as much). But I'm saying this only from my personal experience. Do know that my 4000D was on a VERY dust floor and I used it quite a bit

The white builds in pcpartpicker look fine though so I'd say you can go for a white case

It's a good build, but as your first PC, this does not include a keyboard, monitor, or mouse, all of which you will need.

And as your first PC, $2300 plus a monitor good enough to take advantage of that hardware, plus peripherals, you're looking at $2600 or more. Are you sure you want to spend that much? You can have a VERY good PC gaming experience for literally a quarter the price.

Consider doing that and saving almost $2000, for what I'm going to go out on a limb and say is a comparable experience. And that's coming from someone who plays at 4k 120hz

I managed to get in a 6-core CPU, a very capable 1080p GPU with decent ray tracing, a 100hz freesync monitor, a mechanical keyboard, and a decent gaming mouse too.

also the reasons to buy that cpu stop at it being the color orange.......

Which it is not, that cpu is one of the WORST options, even for a budget, a 5500, which still isnt good, is way better, or a i3 1200f. Please never recomend this cpu to someone

They made a post about 2 months ago trying to cut costs on a $1500 build, I'd imagine it's in their interests to save money, and I wanted to propose an alternative.

I had two friends who wanted to build PCs and were prepared to spend $1500 to target 1440p 144hz. Compared to 1080p 100hz for half the price, they were both glad they saved the money for a comparable experience. Both of them got a Ryzen 5500 and an RX 6600. It's a suggestion.

im not disagreeing with that, the 5500 and 6600 are perfectly fine, i was running those just months ago, but i then upgraded to fit my needs and wants, if he was in the market for a 1080p pc, he would have asked for that.

There's a very prevalent misconception that you need to spend a ton of money to have a decent PC gaming experience, which is a pretty harmful myth.

IMO the biggest determinant of how good a game feels is framerate; easier to hit with a 1080p than a 1440p target. Resolution and screen size is more subtle, the difference in PPI or area between a 24" 1080p monitor and a 27" 1440p monitor isn't enormous, about 25%.

A 6600 at 1080p isn't far off a 4070 Super at 1440p at 1/3rd the price. With optimised settings (usually a mix of medium and high) games look indistinguishable to Ultra, so I struggle to think of a visual fidelity difference on the expensive card. Upscaling is kinda moot at 1080p.

It gives up on good Ray Tracing. Swapping to an Intel Arc A750 would fix that... Actually I'm going to update the build with that.

I think above 1080p you experience pretty severe diminishing returns for cost, and I'm writing this from a 4k 120hz 48" display lol.

Also do you know if keeping a white case clean is  a problem? I used to have a white keyboard and it was always a mess.

Actually really depends on the kind of dust you have around lol. Where I used to live it would show up way more prominently on a black case because it was a light brown. Here in New York it's grayer and shows up on whites more. But get a duster for the outside and a can of compressed air for the inside - or a vaccuum on its blow setting - you'll be fine.
