Is Micron capable of manufacturing chips that Apple could put on their boards? Because it exists within a power limit does not automatically mean its usable. Building a laptop is not like building a desktop at all.

Apple's estimates are actually fairly accurate. I have a Late 2013 15" rMBP and I used to get more than the advertised battery time (8 hours) with at least a dozen chrome tabs and an IDE open. And even now, after my battery has been trashed (1800~ cycles), I get about 4 hours with about 30 chrome tabs, steam, and an IDE open.

huh!?!? DDR3L and DDR4 are manufactured conform to JEDEC's specs

I own a Iphone use a mac desktop at school and rarely at a friends house and I hate apple as a company. Their phones are fine but their laptops get beat buy a 500$ acer laptop.

I have believed and now see the results that MACs proprietary form of business was and is now hurting them. I have used MACs for years in Notebook and Desktop form and found many reasons to admire MACs, but, I have also always remained a huge fan of PCs and in general, with the much more open platform of PCs find that now (Especially after Microsoft's last Keynote! WOW! They blew me away!) I believe it is PC's time to dominate the digital world. I have always been a tinkerer and as such been frustrated with MAC's approach to their customer who need, not just want, to further the potential of their MAC unit. The lack of RAM in the Macbook Pro is ridiculous when explained as the reason of improving battery life. Their constant emphasis on aesthetics has been/is their downfall as far as I'm concerned. A slightly thicker Notebook with all around better specs is much more reasonable than their neurotic need to make their Notebooks thinner, lighter and so on.. I mean, how light does a MAC user need his/her Notebook to be? I've seen sacrifices in their designs precisely because somehow they believe their customers can't handle a little more weight, etc... Yes, the iPhone, iPod and so on changed the world and I sincerely commend them for that. But now: The Apple Watch? Are they kidding? And, to be clearly noted with my own work as proof, I now rely heavily on PCs to do everything I once used both for and precisely because of Apple's lack of openness in regards to improving their products by sharing information and integrating with the rest of the technology world.

To be fair, the closest competition, to the MBP, doesn't offer 32GB RAM either.......
