Phill Schiller explains why MacBook Pros don't have a 32GB RAM option

I would not put it that far. I love PCs and Windows, but there is no way I would make a Windows machine my laptop.

Some people just want MacOS and some like the reliability of MacOS (also having an iPhone is certainly incentive to go Mac)

Seems legit :D.

Well their specs (especially this time) are far from what should be considered professional grade

It's got a dual core cpu with  I think 8GB of ram and no gpu for ~2 grand, it is a massive rip off even by apple standards

I know about all of the reliability and the clean look of the OS, but is that really enough to justify for $1500 for a 13" laptop with integrated graphics, an ULV i5, an awful keyboard, and basically no compatibility with anything without adapters? Yeah, the drive speeds are pure insanity, and the trackpad is really nice, but there are so many better Windows alternatives that I find it difficult to drop any money on a Mac. I'm not a content creator, so I see no benefit from using Final Cut or anything. For students, the Dell XPS 13 is a much better option...unless their Dad is Craig Federighi or something.

What was that? DDR4L only consumes 1.05V? Hmmm... if they just used SODIMMs, it'd make them much better.

I think a measure in watts would've been better to use.

Hell, even a 20$ chromebook running windows is a good enough device for college or general use

Apple isn't using the latest hardware in their top of the line MacBook? RIPOFFFFFFF

(/s ish)

But still, a normal DDR4 chip/stick uses around 1.2V~, which still isn't that much. Would probably require a larger battery to get the 10 minutes of life back.

I would have to agree. Tim Cook is not Steve Jobs, he is there to keep the company going to to rake in the dough. So far he has not failed at that so there is no reason for the board or his investors to get angry at him. Apple is doing business as usual and that may be a bad thing or it may not, but its what is happening and there isnt anything that can change it really.

I'm still trying to find full electrical specs on DDR3L and DDR4 to see how much power actually they use

You have to realize that Apple would have had a whole slew of more problems if they waited for the new Intel chips. Its not as easy as dropping a part in and selling it.

Yeah, but from the perspective of anyone who actually needs over 16GBs of RAM waiting would make sense. They could at least reduce the price for this year's model...

Yeah. He's a great businessman, but he's not the creative genius that Steve was. I say there are only five viable Apple products right now:

iPhone 7 Plus

Retina 5K iMac

15" Retina MacBook Pro

12" Retina MacBook (very rare cases)

Mac Pro (very rare cases)

Rest in Peace, good sir Jobs, you will be remembered by all of us as the second-greatest innovator in the industry of all time (second only to the one and only Lord Gaben).

$1500 isn't much for someone with a real job. No, it probably doesn't make much sense for a student on a budget, but that isn't the only market for a 13" notebook.
