Hi! I'm gonna try to start a thread just for fun.

Here you can post the stupidest, most embarrassing thing you've done that is PC related.

EDIT: Let's make it 'The most stupidest thing you've said, heard, or seen that is PC related'

Please dictate if you've heard it, seen it, or done it.

As in he had no SSD, or as in he used it for storage? In the last case it really isn't stupid at all.

My friend stripped the thread taking a screw out of a GTX 680 to put a waterblock on, Tried to drill out the screw and slipped running the drill down most of the pcb pulling off resistors, contacts and traces as he went

Needless to say one £400 graphics card went down the drain.

While I was building my first PC, I plugged in my CPU power cable incorrectly, and spent about half an hour swearing incessantly at my computer trying to figure out what the hell I did wrong.

The Ghetto nVidia Shield, which costs more than an nVidia Shield.

"BUT WAIT!" proclaims Linus.  "This presumes you already have a phone!"

I suppose I can make a ghetto laptop as long as I buy or use a pre-existing monitor, tape an mITX board to the back or an Intel NUC, and have terrible battery life with a rigged system?  Seriously, this Ghetto Shield is an incredibly stupid idea.  Even more stupid of an idea as the nVidia Shield itself!  (I kid, I kid..) :P

Not sure... Either getting a GTX 550 Ti used (a year ago) for 100€ or getting an used 60 GB SSD (OCZ Vertex 2) for another 100€.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

if he is really on a budget he can get an SSD later, who cares.

one of the worst things I've done is taking a computer apart around 5 times and rebuilding it because nothing I do will make it turn on in the slightest, turned out I forgot to put the power on at the wall, this was a few years back though. another is continuously buying Asus to the extend of not liking them at all anymore.

How is that stupid?

people dislike using secondary drives for storage or something, like I care, complaining about an SSD just screams having too much cash.
