Worst Tech mistake you have ever made?

Mitch

I killed one of my titans during an Ln2 overclocking. I've put ln2 in the cpu pot, ram pot and.... fail inc.. only 3 gpu pots, instead of all 4.... luckily I had some titans in back-up.

It was more funny than embarrassing tho, sometimes you do something so seriously that you forgot a little detail

Luckily I had titans in backup xD

My friend wanted a gaming rig for less than 500$. Requirements, it should run BF4 and Watch Dogs at 60 FPS on high settings.

I laughed, a lot.

It's possible, as long as you don't include the OS in the price.

That rig can play BF3 maxed out (besides AA) at 60+ FPS. It can definitely handle BF4 at high settings at around 60 FPS. The 7950 is a beast of a card, so it should be able to easily handle Watch Dogs.

SLI 780's drop to 75-80 FPS. I want to see a Fraps Benchmark. 64 Player Conquest, Gulf of Oman.

You said BF3, not 64 player multiplayer BF3.

I personally hate incredibly populated BF3 servers, it completely breaks proper cooperation with the team. How do you know that he wanted to play 64 player multiplayer servers?

Because we play it all the time? He wants a rig that can handle high settings. He is playing @ low with 30 FPS currently.

I remembered something that I did a couple years ago. I tried unplugging a sata from the mobo and ended up ripping off a sata port :S.

The person's computer I was cleaning had 4 sata ports and they only needed 2 so...

Not really stupid but when I was messing with some cables (just grouping them off to the side, not unpluging them or anything like that) and I hit the power button on my mobo, nearly peed myself when the pc started roaring and the leds turned on

I installed a Hyper 212 in a system with two noctuas, wondered why it was so noisy* then saw that I'd pointed them both inwards so the fans were blowing directly into each other.

I thought this nasty ass Masscool HDD cooler was a HDD itself. This is super clean compared to how I pulled it out of the rig. The fans hadn't worked for like a year and a half.
