Yeah so.. my sata cable just melted.
MalenskiiPC replied to MalenskiiPC's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Whew ok good. I got a little scared. I'll try a new one and update. -
Finishing up a build for the sister, and I thought I smelled something funny. Look down to see smoke billowing out the computer. Engage hyper-ripthesidepaneloff. Only thing ruined was a sata cable. I'm guessing it's something to do with the second hand psu, I'm using a modular cable for a different modular psu with the cx600. Nothing else is fried as I can see. Any ideas? Kinda scared to try with another sata cable.

3570k Running a little hot
MalenskiiPC replied to MalenskiiPC's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Thanks for all the posts, I ran prime95 for a little, and got up to 74C. I'm guessing this is just summer and some dust -
Awhile ago my 3570k was running a little hot (45 C idle), so I redid my thermal compound, and it was running at 28 C idle. I'm using MX-4 and a h100i. Now the temps are up to 38 C - 40 C idle. I'm running at 1.1v 4ghz. Could it be that during the summer my comp will run hotter?

What Products Did You Buy Because Of Linus
MalenskiiPC replied to Snapy1's topic in General Discussion
Not exactly a product, but he influenced me to start a custom loop. -
It's because of litecoin mining. 7950 and 7970 are the best cards for it, and there going for insane prices, because every litecoin miner wants them.

Just bought a 7950, my OC on my 7850 is 1050/1225.

Alright guys, I got a theory. April 19th is the end of the Zodiac Sign Aries. The Aries sign is over 28 days. The planet said to be under the rule of Aries is Mars. Mars is the 4th planet from the Sun. The Sun has an area of 1,392,684km. 1,392,684/28 (See #1) is 49739 rounded. 49739 refers to the zip code area of Grayling, Michigan. Grayling's population is 1,884. 49739(See #3)/1,884 is 26 rounded. 26(See #5)/28(See#1) is .93 rounded. .93 refers to the File Extension found on the Golden Orchard Apple II CD ROM. The Golden Orchard Apple II CD ROM version 1.1 was released

I am not advertising for them, I found them through Reddit, and thought that everyone needs to know about them.

All the Sly Cooper Games.

When I played console, I went through 3 controllers from slamming them on random objects. COD sucks.
