According to a review by Robert Youman from Positive Feedback, the ethernet switch does make an impact on audio streaming quality. He says he even prefers it to vinyl recordings in some cases.

at least I could see some angle for them to claim some gaming optimizations like a lower latency or some sort of auto QoS feature. This just Screams, let's hope people have no idea what digital means and just sell pointless improvements for placebo.

Nah, there's already "gaming" switches that just offer a couple of 10G uplinks that really do nothing for gaming. Asus have one I think.

You don't understand. Each packet of information is gently handled and tuned properly before they're delivered to your ear as sound. In digital, the square wave is more square with sharper angles. No lame rounded off angles that you find in cheaper units. Those simply wont due for audio harmonics.

Yea, your 500Kbps of DoTA traffic sure can have room to breathe in that 10G connection... to the router only, and not onward to the internet lol. I love it.

Real gameurz don't use switches, they connect directly to their gaming router. Preferably over wifi.

I am confuse, He said in some cases so sometime it seems a bit better and sometime worse than vinyl. Vinyl quality is very very bad with lots of garbage noise on. Is that a bad translation of another article or a running gag i don't know about ?

That soothing crackling sound is what gives the vinyl recording it's authenticity. It's better with it.

Either you've never listened to an actual vynil or the ones you heard were in very poor conditions, if they are well kept they don't have much noise. Whether something sounds "better" than something else is going to be subjective, however by its nature vynil is likely to sound close to the original sound in the recording booth while digital mediums must be interpreted by software.

Definitely. Had a crap player with an even worse needle that gave everything a hiss and crackling. Now I have a proper one and it's silent, only crackling when there's dust or some other imperfection with the record itself.

I think this is why CDs never did it for me The ritual of putting one on and crackle crackle of vinyl are something of their own. It's that, or digital.

I suppose if they are aiming for the top 1% with minuscule changes that can only potentially help then it makes sense as a product. Doesn't mean it's a good investment and you also have to wade through the manufacturers shit

i'm sorry what?

so they think by giving a cleaner signal it's gonna improve the audio quality on spotify and apple music?

these guys do know that audiophiles usually buy their music outright and use devices that don't stream the audio data over a network connection?

i mean, it'd would be useful in a professional recording studio, but a lot of audiophiles don't work in professional recording studio and mainly just want to listen to their music.

it's like trying to fix a broken engine by polishing it, i mean yea, it might help it run better, when it's fixed.

it's marketing itself to the wrong audience, it's better off marketing to professional recording studios since they probably can benefit from this.
