What does your girlfriend / wife think of your gaming set-up?

I recently watched LTT's triple set-up monitor video gaming at 4K. 

 

I have always been a fan of potentially creating my office into a triple monitor + vertical chat monitor, back-light LED's proper gaming man's cave. However, i'm concerned about the perception it will bring when trying to hook up with women. I am 27 now and don't have a partner, but where I come from the ladies are a little more classy who aren't big gamers. I haven't brought a girl back in a couple of years, but I just know a lot of them wouldn't be so 'keen' with a 6 CONSOLES set-up (+1 if you know the meme )

 

Yes, in before "If she doesn't like gaming or what you do, then she's not for you yadda yadda..." I know that, but relationships is also about compromise too. Especially considering I'm now getting older.

 

What does your girlfriend / wife think of your gaming set-up and habits? (particularly the NON-gamer partners?)

I am the wife. I also built both of our setups, so I, rather obviously, totally approve of them.

 

That said, I can ask my hubby if he has a girlfriend or another wife I don't know of and, if so, what they think of our setups.

my GF isn't much of a gamer. my rig is all black with a few hints of color and I don't go RGB crazy so it mostly looks like a normal 2 monitor setup.

You're worrying too much about something that, really, shouldn't matter. The statement about her not being the one if she doesn't like gaming is accurate, but only semi-accurate; she doesn't have to partake in it, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker. If she is unwilling to accept that you'll have different hobbies (and, really, that's healthy), then she's not the one. Other things will come up and unless you're completely willing to change who you are to bend to her whim, it won't work out.

 

You're not that old, and compromising on things you enjoy is never a smart move.

 

When I had dual monitors, the girls I'd bring over didn't really pay any attention to it at all. My roommate has 3, sometimes 4 monitors and the only comments the girls I've brought over have made were inquisitive. If you're finding people that find it a bad thing, they're just shitty people. I've never dated a gamer.

 

Now, that said, if you spend more time gaming than with the gf, that's probably why they'd dislike it. That's valid.

 

Honestly, if you're worried about perceptions, go to the gym. A fit body will trump any nerdy attributes you have.

My fiancée enjoys my PS5 gaming setup because it lets her cuddle and watch me play (she's not a big gamer herself). Think that's all that matters, really.

 

Also: could we have a gender/sexuality neutral question instead? I understand where the OP is coming from, but it's built on a tacit assumption that someone with an elaborate gaming setup is going to be a hetero male. There are women and LGBTQ gamers with elaborate setups, too!

The question was specifically targeted at females. This is because generally, the majority of gamers are predominantly males by a large margin.

 

I have nothing against the LGBT community or whatever, but it isn't relevant to ME the OP in this scenario as for one, i'm hetro and could care less about whether gay guys or similar game. - Feel free to make your own topic if you want to know that bad.

I'm gonna be honest, what I posted was a joke. I don't give a shit about trying to derail this thread, I just found it fun to poke fun at the title. 

The fact that people try to eschew my terrible jokes as me getting offended kinda amazes me. I'm not that kind of person. I have some part of my brain remaining and I don't use Twitter, so that's already two legs up compared to most gays that can't take a joke.
