What are y'all upgrading this holiday season?

dizmo

Most likely nothing, I'm only on laptop for the forseeable future. Possibly an MX Anywhere 2S if I can find it for really cheap.

Next paycheck i'm getting some winter tires. Currently in the process of ordering a full LED interior kit for the car also. I'm content with my computer and will be for a long time ahead, also cars are my hobby now.

You kids and your in car LED lighting...

While I wouldn't have them go through the bed, as that's just a waste of bed space, I have considered running smoke stacks just to keep from smelling diesel exhaust in the winter as I let my truck warm up while I poor my coffee. Diesel exhaust is one of the few things I can smell and I hate the smell of it.

Part of me wants to say just shut the window but I have a feeling there's some other problem there ?

Yeah, exactly. I figure I'll hold onto this smartwatch till Fitbit stops releasing updates.  But like, I just got an update just last week, so idk if it's stopping any time soon.

Yeah, a friend of mine has a Fitbit and she really loves it.

Indeed lol.

Some of my older and more important stuff is archived on blu ray discs, so every now and then i have to check them out.

I also rip CDs i buy to FLACs.

Haha, yeah that's fair. FLAC ripping would be my only use for a drive, but I'd just get an external one.
...actually I think I have one kicking around here somewhere.

Hopefully I will be upgrading my TV.

I still have the 1080i projection TV I bought in 2006.

It is part of my old style living room setup with the TV on a low coffee table style stand and a 3 seat sofa.

Nobody in my family uses it anymore. Bedroom desk top computers running Netflix, Amazon, Xfinity and Youtube have replaced it.

The plan is to get a 50 to 55" 4k smart TV and put it on a 36" X 72" table with one gaming chair in front of it.

I am going for a Samsung Q70 since it gets good reviews as a gaming TV.  They are about $1300 and I want to pay $1100 or less.

I'll be FINALLY upgrading from my FX 9590 + 1050ti system that I've been using for just over the past 2 years. It's done its job I wanted to increase settings on my 2560 x 1080 75hz monitor. I'm going to reuse some parts to save money. Here's what I'll be upgrading to:

I hope that I can upgrade to this in November. I'll be reusing the AX860i, Neutron SSD, NH-D15 and the Corsair Air 740 case from my current FX 9590 build. I want some kind of silver theme to fit with the Radeon VII that I bought in March, so that's why I bought the special edition memory and plan to buy the MSI Creation. I might also customize the NH D15 to look a bit more fancy and fit the theme.

My plan is for this build to last at least another 5 years, if not longer.

Gonna steal take my brother's RX 580 once he upgrades. 1TB SSD for OS, drivers, games and freq used apps and a 1tb SSHD for internal backup (maybe?), images and videos. New PSU since I'm scared my 450W EVGA BT is not gonna play nice with a 185W card, plus modularity is gonna help for cable management and airflow. After this i think I'll be happy with the internals of my system for a few years.

1050 ti -> RX 580

2TB HDD  -> 1TB SSD & 1TB SSHD

450W EVGA BT -> 650W EVGA GQ

The viotek is great, I can't really push 1440p 144hz with a laptop 1070 atm, but it has great colors (somehow better than my old ips) and the response times and clarity is amazing, for the game that I can run at 1440p 144hz like csgo it's a legendary experience, cant wait to upgrade the rest.

I could really use a new keyboard. I have an older razer keyboard from around 2013 with cherry mx blues. It was really fucking cool at the time since I was able to have my own office area/was living alone in the dorms at school. But now I'm a full fledged adult and living with my SO, the clackity clack in front of other people is slightly humiliating.

Depends on the deals for some items I need to switch out.

Top of the list, my phone.  It just hit four years old and the battery is starting to go.

Maybe the keyboard.  Looking to go wireless.

Some speakers, see if the Venatoo Transparent Zeros go on sale.

That about it for this year.  Most of the major upgrades I plan are later next year.

So all the major sales are fast approaching. Cheap tech for all!

What are you guys upgrading?

I'm on an upgrade year, so mine are:

Current system -> 2600x/GTX1080

29" LG -> 27" 144hz 1440p

S8 -> OnePlus 7

And maaaaybe if I'm really feeling it, a 2014 Audi Q5...

Just upgraded from GTX 1060 3gb to RTX 2060 super 8gb.

I'm currently on an AMD Ryzen 5 - 1600 using a B350 Asus Prime Plus motherboard. Before the Christmas season hits, I'm planning on upgrading to an AMD Ryzen 5 - 3600 and a B450 board (or an X570 board for future upgradability).

I'm still gonna keep using my Nvidia GTX 1060 (6GB variant) and probably upgrade to a Radeon 5700 at the beginning of next year.
