How do you find Crossfire in 2019? Does it actually work on anything?

When I bought the cards there was more support for it. Now I wouldn't recommend it anymore. There aren't enough games that support multi-gpu properly.
Battlefield used to be a great game for crossfire in BF3, BF4 and hardline, But I can't get the second card working on BF1 and BFV anymore. It detected once in BF1, when I used it in Eyefinity mode but fps were too low to be practical.
Now I would just stick with 1 card. Even though I spent 940 euros on both cards ? Right now a GTX 1080 is faster than what I have in perfect scaling.
To be fair, I didnt test modern games lately, because I dont play them as often as I used to.

My System:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700X - CPU Cooling: Corsair Hydro H100i Platinum - Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X570-F - RAM: Neo 16 GB 3600 Mhz - GPU: 2x Sapphire Vapor X R9 290 OC in crossfire - OS SSD: Samsung Nvme SSD 256 GB Second SSD Samsung 840 Pro 512 GB - Games: RAID 0 3 x Seagate 1 TB HDD - Case: NZXT H710i - PSU: Corsair AX860i

I think I'm going to buy a Samsung 970 Evo with 1 TB as my 500 GB SSD is not enough as a boot drive because everything gets stored in C: even if you tell windows to store it in D: ?.

There are plenty of great silent mechanical keyboards for office use or whatever, I know corsair makes some pretty good ones, I personally hate membrane keys.

Looks like the forum's tier list places it at Tier E:

Quote

Tier E 75A current draw on little ambient airflow, maxed out 1600X and 3600X, a bit more than maxed out 2500X

I wouldn't say a 3950X on that board is a good idea.

Nothing with the pc I dont think, I was going to upgrade to 3rd gen ryzen but I'm not having any issues with my current cpu so didn't feel the need

Will probably upgrade my earphones and phone though, I'm feeling the urge to go back to android for a while

No real desire to upgrade, and still waiting for my circa 2013-14 motherboard to die. My previous phenom 2 build is still hanging in there. Will probably out last the i7 im using. Even X58 x5660 has life left to it.. they make great home servers.

I'm probably going to buy bigger HDD/SSD for my games.

Honestly idk, the only thing I might do is buy a FlexATX PSU instead of using a Pico PSU+Server PSU w/ Breakout board. It's kind of jank and sometimes has issues (though I haven't really had any problems recently).
a Vega64/r5 2600 plays almost everything at 1080p just fine even at high refresh rates.

I am not about to buy a new laptop for very little benefit (the only one I would get is a Precision 7720 for ~$800+) and still have to get a $100+ dock to use an eGPU again.

I just got a new phone (technically 2 because I bought another one to swap board from my Exynos Note9 to a Snapdragon N9600 Note9)

why no dark mode?

The viotek is great, I can't really push 1440p 144hz with a laptop 1070 atm, but it has great colors (somehow better than my old ips) and the response times and clarity is amazing, for the game that I can run at 1440p 144hz like csgo it's a legendary experience, cant wait to upgrade the rest.

Nice! Good to know.

Check out the GSkill KM780. Usually they're quite cheap (I got mine for $80US) but they're some of the best built keyboards I've had, far superior in quality than the K70.

Depends on the deals for some items I need to switch out.

Top of the list, my phone.  It just hit four years old and the battery is starting to go.

Maybe the keyboard.  Looking to go wireless.

Some speakers, see if the Venatoo Transparent Zeros go on sale.

That about it for this year.  Most of the major upgrades I plan are later next year.

I want to go wireless for the keyboard too, but the battery life for mechanical keyboards just isn't there for me. When they get up to the 100 hour mark, I'll definitely invest. 4 years for a phone is a lifetime! If you're able to hold out though I would, new phones are only a few months from launch.

My PC also got a 2700X + RTX2080Super + 32GB Ram + 1TB NVMe upgrade as well.

Considering getting some new Unifi Cameras for the house.

A lot of work to do to the R33 Skyline including a new Haltech ECU, so that will be this holidays money since its summer down here in New Zealand, racing season :)

That R33 must look niiiice. Also, jealous. NZ is probably the best place in the world to live. No dangerous animals and it looks just like BC.

I'm still gonna keep using my Nvidia GTX 1060 (6GB variant) and probably upgrade to a Radeon 5700 at the beginning of next year.

I don't think X570 will help with future upgrades, I'm pretty sure this is the last year for AM4.

Yeah, not sure I would see a difference in speed, I just like the idea of a PCIe drive. I would also get a 1TB to replace my 240GB OS drive.

Woah long quote Dizmo.....

I would feel bad to sell this thing.  It's in a cheiftec dragon case.  Lol...  my fave...   plus it's a biostar motherboard. has the biostar disease... cold boots are awful..  they can't get the bios right. I don't think tb85 is technically compatible with rx580. I mostly have to work with junk anyways.  I see  alot of core 2 duos that i swap to core 2 quads for people. Put an ssd in.  Put in a better gpu, and upgrade their ddr2. lmao......  I'm still happy with an i7 4770s. I have been tempted to get a new board, cpu, and ram... part of me doesn't care about jumping to ddr4.

Damn! Does that thing have tempered glass side panels? How much did you get that beast for? Part of me would want to fill all the SSD trays on the side for sure...

Oh it was a bit on the expensive side, around US$200, but i think its going to be worth it.

The left side panel is a thick tinted 4mm glass panel, the right side panel is a steel panel with a mesh intake for more SSDs over on that side as well, it even has a carrying handle on the top (which i also needed).

I really wanna make that SSD array on the side as well, hopefully with fancy SSDs like the Team Delta Max RGB.

I don't think X570 will help with future upgrades, I'm pretty sure this is the last year for AM4.

Even if we hit AM5 next gen, I don't mind being a gen behind. I'll stick with the x570 boards until the new AM5 stuff gets cheaper.

Yeah but at that point why not get X470? It's cheaper and just as compatible.
