Apple NEEDS to Innovate - Zenbook PRO Duo Review

James

Buy ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo:
On Amazon: https://geni.us/dSxSne
On Newegg: https://lmg.gg/8KVP3

The ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo is a high-performance laptop with two screens! That’s right, a secondary display above the keyboard offers more screen real estate than we’ve ever seen on a mobile workstation or gaming laptop.

Obviously the pump on the water cooled transcode server is failing and needs attention ASAP

Well, usually pump failure doesn't lead to much more then endless throttling.

This seems to be another kind of error. Like some conflict in software, maybe a broken RAM module, but I would guess it is software related. Broken RAM usually ends with a system crash.

But it is likely something, rendering software usually doesn't insert random glitches without reason. But at least they now have some nice reference material to actually glitchy behavior if they want to add such to a video.

Though, the problem could also be over at Youtube/Google. (After all, they struggled with streams not that long ago.)

Was wondering if it was just my phone at the end there, comments section backed me up at least.

You shouldn't have messed with that render Linus!

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

QA process needs tweaking, something as basic as broken files should be caught easily. Just sayin'.

This is what happens when Linus sits an Terran's desk

In the broken part of the video was there a point to why the title was "Apple NEEDS to Innovate", or was that just clickbait? I saw no mention of apple other than a forced jab at the Mac Pro

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

15 minutes ago my PC froze and had to restart it.

Then I watch this video freaking out.

Had to check both YT comments and the forum to be sure.

Also, vids are earlier on float plane, right? Is it glitched there too?

More than likely something happened on youtube's end, because they always watch the render project before posting it. But may not wait and see what youtube processing does to a video.

With the new youtube editor I think you can fix videos that are already Live, so it'll be interesting to see how that works.

Thoughts on this vs the latest 15" HP Spectre x360 with the AMOLED display, 1660, and i7-9750h? I realize that a 2 in 1 and this is a laptop with a touchscreen, but it's very tempting and I'm actively comparing the two for productivity work, specifically Photoshop and Lightroom.

Okay, audio is fixed, so now the comparison with the MBP is evident. But I totally disagree. What makes the MBP great to work on is the huge touchpad, good keyboard and the multitasking support. I'm guessing Linus is hinting at the touchbar comparing the touchbar with the 2nd screen on the ZBP, but that comparison doesn't hold. They both offer completely different purposes and offer completely different functionality. Besides that, the touchbar is nothing but a gimmick as of right now.

For me, the 2nd screen looks... nice... but I don't see any added value. The lack of a good keyboard with 10 keys (I use those all the time) and touchpad is concerning, so much so that I wouldn't consider the ZBP just yet.

I am also waiting to see what people are saying. I want to know if it's worth another $500 for a better CPU and More RAM.

$2,499 - i7-9750H 6 Core @4.5 GHz, 16GB RAM  -  CPU Mark = 13615

$2,999 - i9-9980HK 8 Core @5.0 GHz, 32GB RAM  -  CPU Mark = 17771

In the other day i actually made a stupid post regarding laptops and how they are ending nowhere. I'm happy to see laptop makers inovating since it's been long overdue since the normal form factor is older than me..

I actually liked the video, linus script was well written (despite the obvious apple-youtube-gime-views) and the inclusion of Taran and his words was great and made me rethink some things..

This laptop seems really great to have it around for gaming, productivity or just multitask-procrastination (i'm coining this sentence right here).

Did laptops manufacturers arrived on time? I think that depends on what services popup and how existing ones and new ones evolve. The way mobile phones or better saying, mobile phones hardware evolves might open doors to new ways to interact and i do not think we are far.

But damn, thats a nice looking pc. Mmm..

Not sure if someone else replied to you, but Linus said in a recent WAN show that he wanted to do away with the intro. It was old and over used. I agree with him. As much as I love the song, graphics, and witty messages at the end, I just want the video start. As soon as he says the name of the sponsor I hit the "L" key to skip it. Going right into the video is a very nice thing. Especially when you're binge watching something, the intro will get old fast. So the lack of intro is intentional, and hopefully permanent.
