I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

Being higher does help with the OEM headlights, wont save you from HIDs in reflector housings though.

I am split on a SUV like a passport or CX-5 turbo. Or a truck. I have been test driving a lot of vehicles. Was really hoping to like the newer F150s but the steering is way too light. If you are cruising with just your left hand on the wheel you are all over the place because the bumps will move your hand.

Some previous owner of my chopper project(probably) : hmm the throttle won't return like it should, well let's just add another spring to the carbs to help it along

Issue was that the paint on the handlebar had melted and become goopy so the throttle tube was sticking....

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Yo!

Could someone recommend me a pc software that can read out error codes and live data through those generic BT OBD2 dongles? For some funny reason the app in my head unit cant read out oil temperature and says no errors in ECU so i just want to verify it.

I use "Torque" for reading my OBD2 bluetooth adapter.

I don’t know if anything you can use on a PC to be honest...

I know forscan can work with WiFi/Bluetooth obd2 readers (for fords/some Mazda’s)

but that’s it. There’s gotta be something though

I know a few but all of them pretty much paid and require their own cable to work..... Torque seems pretty nice but its interesting that it cannot read out the oil temp, highly doubt it could be possible that the car does not have one.... (VW GOLF MK5)

Quick Google suggests its a combined oil level and temp sensor if you have one?

Is it a GTI? If so this might help confirm if you do have one: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Volkswagen_Golf_GTI_Mk_V/37-ENGINE-Oil_Level_Sensor_Replacement/37-ENGINE-Oil_Level_Sensor_Replacement.htm

Sensor should be under here:

IDK (probably not because it has a rod for oil level checks), dont really have any way to lift up the car so i can look at the underside of the engine. Ill figure out something during the weekend.

May still have one. My Subaru has a dip stick and an oil level sensor.

If you can get your arm under the car, start recording video on your phone and wave it around under the car in roughly the right place. Front facing camera is often easier to use imho. Used this a few times to save having to jack my car up

Do you have a oil temp gauge in the cluster? IIRC only GTI/R VW's have oil temperature sensors. IIRC coolant temp sensor (which Torque already displays) is used for most of the things nowadays, including warning when engine is cold.

Big mistake, oil can be still way too cold while the coolant is already at or above 90 °C

so you have a VW.. I'm gonna say you really should pay the extra money to get a real VCDS cable from Rosstech, it's totally worth it for those cars.

To be honest, for VAG there's only one working solution - VCDS. I know they're cheap on aliexpress, but you need to know, that they're pain in the ass to use, despite the fact, that they're illegal. Genuine VCDS is really great solution for every VAG car - and they work with every car that supports obd, since early 90s till now...

Anyone else know how high they think the prices of old early to mid -2000s BMWs will go?

I've wanted a nice E39 or E60 M5 for a long time, and just as I've started to have the money to buy one, the prices seem to keep going up.

Are these really collector cars or will the value eventually come down to reality?

e39, the sky is the limit. e60 has a v10 so thats gonna go up as well.
