Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I'll check next time I'll drive, which is currently not often, because of a certain virus :(

Edit: I just checked the service history (about 200 pages or something) and I couldn't find anything about it ever having been replaced. But I also didn't look too closely.

Oh if it's failed you'll know it because it'll be overheating! It's the kind of thing that works one minute and isn't working the next minute. They almost never went bad for leaks, the seals were awesome on them!

I've been driving the car since 2013, so if it failed before that, I would've not been the one to experience it. 😀

Changed out the quick-release spring pin for the Sto-N-Sho license plate mount. Apparently you're supposed to keep these lubed and oiled or something according to the manual. Who reads those??? I'm honestly just glad that the pin is on a threaded body so it's only a $5 part and not buying a whole new bracket to be redrilled into the car body!!!

Mentally I thought the Sto-N-Sho brackets had the quick release pin fused into the bracket,so I was prepping myself for buying a new bracket, but clearly they put a lot more thought behind this thing than I realized! I'm very happy with it

Closer up of the new wheels on the R33. The rotors and calipers look horrible behind them! Just waiting for the new rotors & pads to arrive from DBA, and will rebuild & powder coat the calipers.

And just today I found this big box under a load of crap while tidying the garage. Completely forgot to fit my Driftworks lower control arms zzz.

So I *might* do those this week...though I just had my alignment done...so maybe ill wait until after i get the underside re-sealed.

@JarskyLooks good, but I must ask why go with a quick-release in an r33? Not like you're hurting for space in it.

On an unrelated note, god damn the new Volvos feel nice inside. The s90 and xc60 i checked out the other day had faaaar more comfortable seats and a nicer interior/infotainment than the a6/rsq8/e-tron I also checked out. v60-polestar.thumb.jpg.b8b87c23e03d1fdcea45cc21fd2fcb3d.jpg

i would have gotten a 2018 V60 ... if it wasnt nearly 3x as much as the V40 i got
Man the V60 was a great car ... and fuck ... its still for sale ... 3k cheaper than back then tho 😮

there was also a 2014 S60 T5 awd automatic .... that was just brought in when i got my V40 ... but i cant afford the fuel for that beast especially knowing it would be dailied around town only ... plus it was sedan in a weird ass color combo ... nice dark blue exterior and the diarrhea light brown interior .... thing got sold about few hours after i got my V40. I do like my little glorified focus tho :P

Or maybe he needs the space to enter the car and not have it in the way of his legs 🤔
